An angel of wood
Facing his summer garden
Of flowers and birds
Which he grew from his own mouth
Without a mind to observe

Well done his bat of Tendulkar
Doing balls to role far and far
A statue now for him to tell more
Thanking for all his Six and four

It’s a giant bird
Second look, it’s a young girl
A thrilling third glance
It’s actually an angel
Three twisted in a statue

Premium Member A Still Life

A
silver
grey statue-
recreation's
muse-
a
face
so surreal-
the blank eyes met
mine-
a
curtsey
her reply-
to my silver
dime.

Saint David Day

It is strange the Church did not care
The statue of David is bare
For women to see
A Saint he could be
With so little that he could share!
Form: Limerick

The Mean

Victorian art is quite clean
Though Roman and Greek are obscene
The Queen did not care
That David was bare
But he was quite shy of the mean!

Octavius Australopithecus
Decided he would take a leak with us

Premium Member Calling Card

A statue got tired of birds
 Leaving their calling card, turds!
So he said this is it
I am tired of this s**t
and those were his very last words

Statue of Eros

Statue of Eros, beheaded.
Genitals gouged by offended Christians.
Gaze raptly at the dimensions of the cavity.
Imagine the marbled masterpiece
Of his more sexual face.

Triumph Of Freedom

In skies of hope, the statue leaps high
Chains shatter loud, as freedom's cry
A symbol reborn, where dreams take flight
Victory roars, for Trump's golden light

Half a bite

Fright In love is vain,
I dreaded to be a memory.
My Fall was tranquil, her Smile
impeccable, it rendered me poignant.
Too stoned to worship her imperfections
a statue I became.

Spirit of the Statue

I was among birds and swift to the sky. I met a torch and glow on rays. I never though I could point winds and passages.

Come O Dear

come
o dear
come

look at
this hand
this palette
these colors

come
o dear
come
with old
to adorn new
for the imperishable statue of heart

Premium Member Motionless

She stood on the road
            motionless as a statue
            The deer looked at me
Then, I watched it leap away
            freely, into the bushes

It 's Time

It 's time !
To crack you !
Erected yesterday - I'm crumbling porcelain .
The surface of the statue shimmers
in supplications ,
But my hand is already drowning
in sacrificial flowers.

Regret

Bonfires of instruments play faded relics
of song.
Hungry enough to steal, fingers beg, know longer
do they hold a lover or hope.
I am a disfigured statue vandalized by currency
of regret.
