and so there, this world
with the trauma and troubles
while out I saw upon the path
blotches and spatters
of lichen
I know, right
it was like walking
on the back
of a giant negative Dalmatian...

Hinomaru - Japanese Flag
rising blood red sun -
   spatters mount Fuji as
   whalers fly flag

I wrote this poem to try to write what a country's flag might
represent to an individual. I love whales and dolphins so this
is what it represents to me....

A Prayer For the Persecuted
The truth is whispered in the wind.
  A lone eagle screeches
  Calling out
  "Remember the persecuted".

  Men, women and children
  cast out
  Into the Scottish winter.
  Despairing to God

  Sheep now graze
  Over the dereliction.
  Scottish blood
  Still spatters the heather.

  Amen...

Premium Member A Splash of Color
Just a splash of color on a rotting stump; golden waves of pigment spread on a brown canvas. Orange spatters intermingle with yellow polka-dots and the newborn smiles highlighting the essence. Happiness is a blossom of pigments in nature; a time-lapse painting, lightening the heart.

Listen to poem:
He dabbles in this, dips his toes in that
Dithering with daubs, splattering dollops and spatters
Dilly-dallying, loitering lazily lackadaisical
Unable or unwilling to commit.
Half-hearted efforts lie half-baked, unfinished
Laying listless, languidly lolling and littering.
It's so annoying to see time wasted and fortuity fraught
But what can anyone watching do?...

Soul Less Eyes
Blood spatters the walls
It pools under the bodies
She looks down at the soul less eyes
Wide open in shock
They never saw her coming
Never expected she could harm them
She was just a stupid girl
She proved them wrong
Proved them wrong with a blade
And simple downward motions
Ending their lives
They had no chance to scream
To cry out their shock
They lie there with their soul less eyes
Eyes staring at what they could never see...

In Just a Fissure
Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck
For if the struggle
Needs weapons
Give it words
Repudiation
Enthralled me but
Never shall be free
With only a host
Of phantom listeners
Concealing its fury
With just a gentle hiss
Never venting its loath
Never turning to its maker
With condemned hate
When hail and fire converge
In just a fissure
Bearing only just a deeper malice
Inviting only an occult mind
And spatters only wicked stones....

Ladder's up to climb the moon

Dusk is drawing bits too soon

Still, my wee one, let's do try

             Stardust spatters on the sky

              Lady Luna's crescent chin

             Just a jester's glowing grin

If you tickle that, her gleam

She'll be tending ... as you dream.

Premium Member Empty As the Hourglass Shatters
hand in hand the news sink in
as their world collapses and scatters
the veil over their head ever so thin
they parade largo in a daze
hollow eyes clouded by spatters
treasuring however many days
loud incessant echoing ring of chime
undying love to the soul all that matters
across the gritty sands of time
till empty as the hourglass shatters
