Red Sun

Red Sun strides into glory
Pompous owner of the sky
Melts everything he touches
Solar flare in you

Suns Wrath

Solar flare-burst; the sun throws its tantrum; a clean burn this time. Irritating Sol’s not a good idea; he’ll hurl fire at Earth. Spark his rage, you’ll be sorry; he’ll do more than tan your hide!

Infinity

Stream of mind
Flows erratic through time
A thought will find
Existential embrace
Shaping the moon’s face
Footprints of Earth
And future rebirth
A solar flare
Flows through the air
Witness!
Print this!
Is infinity-
Impossibility?
Drift through conscious
Mentally nauseous
Read
The
Signs.

Hidden Paradise

(Dedicated to Toni Marie Labadie.)

A little Tahiti
in our hearts abides
where you and I
love through the tides

Wherever we go
it's always there
under weeping willow
above solar flare

Yes, life is simpler
when I keep this in view:
My troubles aren't insular
My peace is from you

A Momentary Dazzle

Sunlight tumbles
over an open window,
then swallow-dives
into a silver kitchen sink.

Fractals of reflected iridescence
dance over China plates.

A surface tension
between a faucet and a drop of water
creates a solar flare
within its liquid release.

I imagine a mighty splash,
picture an arching rainbow
cresting over high waves.

Buoyant beams
spill over the glinting rim
of a breakfast spoon.

A Summer Breeze

A Summer breeze captures gallant spirits
they add a bit of a charge to the air;
The taste of strawberries and lemonade
bring about a season with benefits;
Drenched in aloe you are beyond compare;
Maybe it’s just a coconut charade
that’s got me seeing all of these visions;
Heart interrupted by a solar flare
I lay in the bed that casual made;
Still I pray that none of these illusions
                   will fade.

July

There is no milk to be had
from this humid churn.
The air is obese.
A limping obstinacy
inflates canyons of heat.
The sun throws a leash of blood
around our necks.
Throats channel the smoke
of saxophones.
Over the dry prairies
a fiery mule pulls the sun.
We will burn lanterns,
listlessly watch catfish
char on bleached docks.
We speak to each other
as if we were just a sigh
at the end of one more
solar flare.

Downsizing

Three Shiny haired sisters
Essence of life stored in boxes
Found their voice in the church of a solar flare
Through years of searching and choosing
Dividing and coveting
Eyes were opened to examine the story
Carried on the spine of our grandmothers
The limbs of our father
The wings of our mother
Breathless from a voyage of the clan
We held hands dancing a sister ring
Around the boxes
That had to be emptied and relabeled
Before sunrise

World's Gifts

As hard as one can possibly stare
I stared into the setting sun
My retinas burned on solar flare
Yet, I didn’t turn ‘til it was done

I promised self to take the time
To witness beauty upon descent
Just what really inspired rhyme
Now I know just what they meant

For life, a sleepless voyage be
Can be changed if we only choose
Take the time, yes, try to see
Gather it all, you cannot lose

This, I learned then to be true
I share it now to give to you

The Beyond

A time to travel
The time to see
A space full of destiny
Through eyesight long and far
The distance that once divided may gather
Sensing the most small and microscopic in detail
A universe of galaxies with infinite matter
To notice the warmth and difference after a solar flare
Life and the amount of time in between
To travel or to see all things never seen
The beyond reality and escape of where none have been
Space a place where we encapsulate
Where did we begin?

Lost Into a Deep Black Hole

I was trapped
and bemused
feeling sad
and confused
a subatomic particle
lost into a deep black hole
and suddenly
you stuck in your magic telescope
and I opened up
like a flower
I shot out like a periscope
a mystical kaleidoscope
like a solar flare
without a care
my heart exploded into a supernova
and then,
I woke up in your constellation
a phantasmagorical revelation
so ecstatic
and divine
orgasmic
and sublime
I'm staying here forever,
until the end of time.
