I need a vacation she said
From all of this playing in bed
And she let him know
There’s more to love’s glow
By moving on sofa instead
Stained
Sofa
Leaning right
Cover over
Hides the filthy years of wear and living.
For Brian's contest-thanks for the challenge!
You are not welcome in bed.
Go sleep on the sofa instead.
The problem my dear
Is appallingly clear
You've forgotten the day that we wed.
quiet pillows
ebon noisemakers
brass-blows, red-green drums
tympanic lament of grief
solace throws on brown sofa
Through the fog, I see shadows.
Silhouettes of people or spirits.
Like the cat that scampers when startled.
Without haste I hide behind the sofa.
Sofa Cushions
I let the cushions on
the sofa in the
downstairs living room record my
sleeping patterns because
that’s what she
loves to do.
So,
one
of the
things I
miss the
most about
my childhood
is teleporting; do
you remember going
to sleep on the sofa and
then waking up in your bed
Catapulting projectiles;
crystal balls, raining down,
plop themselves upon a soft green sofa to
watch the worldly circus arrive.
Catapulting projectiles of
crystal balls, raining down,
plop themselves upon a soft green sofa to
watch the worldly circus arrive.
There once was a cat named Bandit
Who on the sofa would sit
With legs wide apart
He'd let out a fart
Then I 'd laugh till my sides split!

Art
splintered
pieces sewn
into patchwork;
Conjoined phrases decorate a soft quilt;
Words wrap you up lying on the sofa;
Warm and cared for,
poetry
comes to
life.
Afternoon teatime
took me by surprise today
as I settled down
the spring on the sofa popped
A yelp and spilled tea for me
For the Contest "Wow Me In 5 Lines"
long legs thrown over the sofa edge
brown feet extended
dark soft eyes greet me
at the door
ears up
his mouth opens and his
beautiful
moms-home-dog-smile
is the best gift
a girl can get
Me like donuts
Me like ‘em lots
Me like ‘em better
Than singing green robots!
Me like donuts
Me like ‘em with cream filling
Me can eat a hundred of ‘em
Sittin’ on my sofa just
Relaxin’ & chillin’
Form:
Feet propped up, reclining on the sofa inside the den,
watching a hot movie showing a wild and sexy scene,
in his excitement he swallowed his can of Diet Coke
and with his mouth full of pretzel he almost choked.
A bright and shiny new year approaches
What great astounding resolutions will I quotath
About this and that
Bout losing some fat
And spending more time napping on the sofa

Black tinged tear dribble down in misery,
now heart broken
forever:
bereft
life.
Will
he turn
back for her?
Maybe relent?
Forlorn she sat on the sofa waiting.

A small house filled with love
is better than a large house that has none.
A cookie shared with a friend
is better than two cookies eaten alone.
A broken down sofa filled with family and friends
is better than an empty throne.
Zooming all over the globe
Breakfast with the Sphinx at Giza
Lunch shaded by the Tower at Pisa
Dinner on the Champs-Élysées
Bedtime in Pompeii
Seeing the world from my sofa.
Bite Size Poem no.40 Poetry Contest
For rent:
a room with three
rowdy, reckless roommates
who revel in raving it up.
Curtains they've ripped and carpets they've ruined
Worn sofa and rancid kitchen
all greatly reduced with
a garage too
for rent.
While
in flux
not dancing
and wasting time
you missed the best part;
I was waiting right here,
you just could never see me;
Today I'm glued to this sofa;
Nothing's better but you had a choice;
Now we don't, frank arose as I got still.
TV
television needs
looking
at
the remote
control of
reason
has slipped
behind the
sofa of
sanity
as we view
we pay the
price
the walking
wounded
watch scheduled
wars
victims of
a messy
TV

Mouth watering as ambrosia,
your sumptuous lips are robust;
Sitting here wrapped on the sofa,
mouth watering as ambrosia;
You whisper ‘Bonita rosa…’
it’s a game of passion and trust;
Mouth watering as ambrosia,
your sumptuous lips are robust.
