Notes About The Poem

My cousin, Pam, died about 10 years ago. Her family held a fundraiser to pay for her medical needs. She died from ovarian cancer.

Sad to lose a loved one -- her silent auction speaks volumes about the many dear aspects of her interesting character. A shame.

Truly! So many things happen in difficult situations. Her quietest brother spoke at this event. He was the oldest boy in family. Funny how such things come into play.

Silent auctions do so much good for charities. I keep them in mind.

I can only imagine that having to auction her belongings must have felt like losing her again. You did justice to the Tanka form, Kim.

Not her belongings. I think they were donations used to raise money to pay for her extensive bills. I won these pillows. Some things are precious and a keepsake reminder. God bless!

She is missed. Many years have gone by, less hurt but always missed.

It seems she spent a lot of time on that sofa. Nice of you to write in her memory.

The pillows from the fundraiser are on my couch. Thanks, Paige! :)
