Sniffles For Contest
There once was a man from Montrose,
Who always was blowing his nose.
   There was soon an issue,
   When he missed his tissue
And blew it all over his toes....

Well now I really know I am getting "old"
putting myself to bed early with a cold :O

Come on orange juice, zinc, and water, do your trick
Praying here that with rest, I'll feel better -- quick!...

If I Die
when i die, please cry for me
i wanna be loved, i long to be free
no funeral, just sniffles and tears
say you cant live, mourn me for years
selfish maybe, who are you to judge
but maybe i wont die, maybe i wont budge.....

diamond-like
sunlight sparkles
on virgin snow
fresh air tingles
rosy cheeks...
you see your breath
lips shaping
smoke rings...
sniffles clink-clink
like crushed ice
from a paper cup
as they strike the ground ~
ooh! you can't feel
your fingers or toes...

Forgive and Forget
How can I ever forgive and forget
that evening in my ancestral home,
as past the menagerie we roamed.
Your luscious lips of vermillion
broke my heart in a trillion
pieces as mockingbirds deluded
in the twilight garden secluded
by frangipani which infuse the
air by the moonlit pellucid ripples.
Masking the sound of my sniffles....

Plague of Madness
Whom among us are free?
You've a fever?
Sweating and fearing the next test-
of best estimates and a last guess?

Septum and blight;
yet not a roll in sight;
got the sniffles? Got the flu?
The Birdman calls for you.

Watch your wife cry.
Watch your children die.
Watch the public mania hopelessly sigh;
and then - their depression....

Premium Member She Had the Most Gorgeous Eyes
She had the most gorgeous eyes, we agreed.
Speaking at Loretta’s wake, remembering her.
She was way too young to go! Sniffles, sobs
Twenty-seven of us were twenty-two, Loretta’s age.

Such gorgeous gray eyes! Lynn said.
You mean blue, don’t you? Not sure who said this.
They were azure! Powder! Steel! Three more answers.
She had the most gorgeous eyes, we all agreed....

Tissue In Hand
When the sniffles invade
And your nose is a'drip,
You must catch what comes out
'Fore it gets to your lip.

In the case of a child
With some oozing-out issue,
It's up to the nana
To wipe with a tissue...

Or mommy or daddy
Or grandpa or sitter.
Whoever's around can't be
Known as a quitter.

Since stuffiness looks for
A way to break free,
I keep tissue in hand
Like was once done for me....

I've been dealing with sniffles and snotty sneezes But it's not Covid or other dreaded diseases Feel a little stuffy And my eyes are puffy I need to get well so I can have hugs and squeezes The good news is that I no longer have a fever But don't exactly feel like being an eager beaver Now I have some issues I've used all the tissues I should just cut off my nose with a meat cleaver
