Premium Member Strawberry Sherbert

I had strawberry sherbert dreams
   until they got sidestepped by
     melancholy chocolate cake.

My dreams shattered like crumpled
                 pie toppings.
Now I have no desire for sweets.

Premium Member Footfalls of Fate Sidestepped Shunned

Listen to poem:
Heard enough
to know where this can lead.
Footfalls poised to step
   in footprints etched by fate,
   are caught in flight,
   nudged to sidestep shunned.
A foot-plant re-direction
   on a clean slate.
Making fresh footprints,
   striven silently in the sand.

Trump Abroad

At first, when he sidestepped the Queen,
A slight that the world had not seen,
We hung our heads low,
Embarrassed, although
Such faux pas have become quite routine.

But the meeting with Putin was worse
For it seemed, when the two would converse,
Someone looked like a chump
And, of course, it was Trump
Who makes things go from bad right to verse!

Premium Member Silently Seeking Solitude

Slipping silently, serenely sober,
Somnambulist seeking some solitude
Shuffles, self-styled, still sleeping so soundless
Solitary search--simply solipsist.
Some sadder simpleton slipped severely,
Searching so silently, supposedly,
Slipped solemnly, sidestepped suddenly!

Joyce, Very bloody good cousin, no chance of being bored, faith in the light a coming, he returns, it is assured! Carol, and yet i really write for thee, the reader of my verse, of words and maybe poetry, hopefully, better than my worst. David Your 32 mb must have sidestepped away, But it didn’t go far cos the memory’s ok, The megabytes and hard drive surely do work, Without it computers play dead and they lurk, A doggie computer with no byte… Don Johnson

Summer Sight

The dark gray winter passed
The velvet green spring sidestepped
Ah! The gold sheen of summer veneer
Dissipating warmth and promising cheer.

The weeds, the grass, the slender cattails
Having sipped the inebriating ale
Flutter and dance with jubilation
At last the moments of sun’s celebration!

Oh! the majestic shades-gold,orange,crimson!!
Shouldn't we all sing and pray in unison?
Grateful for each warm long day
drenched in the sorcerer’s signature ray.
