Humorous to me and Maybe Only me
Was it an argument
A scrimmage
A scuffle
A hair-pulling jaw-slugging fight
Or an all-out brawl?
Let’s ask the three dead people down the hall....

Fisticuffs At 42
A tussle
A fray
A skirmish
A soiree
A fracas
A fight
A scuffle
A blight
A scrap
A brawl
A melee

Getting Fired- the Classy Way
Hey when its over its over
Squad Sergeant combing his grove
Takes out the vice shredders
I'm not gonna leave in a scuffle
I'll shake your hand and grin
Wish you a nice afterlife...

Alien Tracks
Fear not! Fear not! Fear not!
As you trudge through alien mud
Trudge! Trudge! Trudge!
Through parts that hush
Scuttle! Scuttle! Like cattle!
By tracks return is a scuffle-
But beware as you rush
That paths may not lead to paths....

Iron Love
Let me stumble,
I promise you I’ll stand up;
Let me stumble,
wretched knees gain a callus;
Let me stumble,
I’ll win, I like to scuffle;
Let me stumble,
my base will become iron;
Let me stumble,
and just love me when I do....

Owl
Only at night
She hunts and coos for what she needs
A lover or to feed
Bright eyes and feathers easily ruffled
Not one to avoid a scuffle
She is strong yet so endangered
Her wisdom engulfs her daydreams
Only at night shes wide awake and dreams...

Several regiments laurel.
Other regiments regiment.

Different regiments suspect.
Individual encounters intersect.

Acrostic
Entangled
In complex twists I unwind,
Her soul and mind to render,
Each desperate body scuffle,
To execute seduction:
Fingers in crucial moves,
Intimidate desires,
In the jovial burning fire,
Arousal tactics focus;
On removal of the net,
She grovels like a tame pet....

Garden Activity Every Day
Delightful daisy dances in the wind
She holds a dandelion against her chin
Two daffodils have a tiny scuffle
Marigold laughs and shakes her ruffle
There is garden activity every day
Produce and flowers need to play
They have to while their time away
Come and join us, please say you’ll stay....

Still We Care
As the calm breeze
pierce the skin
our hearts freeze
over a scuffle we can’t win
but we still struggle
we can’t be like
anybody else, then we take a
walk _ humble
taking a long hike
hoping to touch God’s face
just we changing pillow
your scent never leave the case
it’s so strong as the willow....

Rundown
“In a rundown, the runner is in a pickle that could become a rhubarb.” ~ by poet
Rundown.
He's trapped between
bases being pursued
by the fielders who glibly smile
because they know they have the advantage,
to perhaps overtake and tag
the beleaguered runner,
to foil the run.
Rundown.

Rictameter
Predator and Prey
Darkness, creeping along the ground;
Wind rustling, seeds of doubt abound.
A poisonous villain, seeking its victim.
Light fading, composure escaping;
Nowhere to hide. The game running, tripping.
A pounce. A scuffle; commotion ensues.
A bite, with invisible toxin, subdues.
Frozen, unmoving, breathing decayed.
Fear, the predator. Hope, the prey....

Memoire of Roxanne
Eyes like fire and voice like rain
eyes like fog and heart like a stain
cigarettes burning in the coals of the night
shivering from the downpour feeling unright
she lookes at me with contemptous passion
asking me if i'm all talk or action
leave her on the street
scuffle by dragging my feet
don't want to look back at the girl i knew
knowing that this is what became of you...

Ember
Thy scarlet rise, thy wistful blur
I delve, into thine purest passion
and taste the ember
of our crazed pollution.
Thy lash, thy whipping break
I, hither under thine blooming scuffle
soothe the yoke of this moment
with the edge of epiphany's
final gasp.
Sink thine breath into mine marrow,
and live within me,
within this embrace.

Iambic Pentameter
White Flamingo
Someone once burned a pentagram outside my friend's apartment
the day after, in the courtyard, he stripped off all his clothes
silently perching on one leg by the edge of the pool
A faceless neighbor giggled "he's gone flamingo".
after a brief scuffle -they carted him off to jail...
Hesitantly I posted bail I couldn't afford
the very next day
he stood on two legs
and put in a
honest days
work....

Tree Walk
a cold sleep
under chilling dreams
mostly
bones find each other
a dirt path
in the tall woods
the ill-bred trees
as usual –
darkly
disinterested
rabbit running
helter-skelter
down the track
heading at me
it is being chased
by what
I did not see
behind my shoulder
a deadly scuffle
I keep walking
my steps
are less shock proof
Back home
taking shoes and socks off
naked feet flounder
bones hang loose
again...

I Am a Slave, Not a Worker
I grapple,
tussle
and scuffle for nothing.
I squall like a storm;
on a Workers' Day.
I wake up everyday
and yet I am not a worker
but a slave.
I drink my own sweat
I swim on my own tears
because I do not work
I slave
I slave for survival
day and night
my life is a fight
I brawl
I wrestle without payment
I need my freedom
I need my peace
I am arrested
kept in a box
I suffocate
I am throttled
I Am A Slave, Not A Worker.

Narrative
'a Home Treasured'
Memories scuffle to be remembered
I wish this journey did not have to be endeavored
The pictures against the wall
Each with its own story to scrawl
I can still hear the laughter
Something we never use to chase after
It all came so naturally
This place embraces everything that means family
If we close the door today
Our hearts might feel a wee bit grey
Calling it home was a treasure
Blessed was I beyond measure

Couplet
The Grand Staircase
The ceiling lowers a chandelier’s glow,
A suspended drizzle of glass fireflies.
Marble tiers like a sharp-edged ruffle,
Scaled by lissome feet in buffed leather shod.
As jewels’ shine with sequins’ luster vies,
And pomade’s glints with brilliantine's scuffle,
A beauty to make all womanhood blush,
Ascends the stairs, and with her all eyes rise.
Silk gown’s long train trailing e’er so graceful,
A teardrop’s upflow that brings down a hush;
Young squires turn faithful....

Pigeons
(At this time of year, when I go to collect my morning papers at dawn, I often come across little groups of pigeons, always at road junctions, pecking away at something.)
What is it with pigeons at junctions?
Each morning, there's loads on the floor,
they scuffle around pecking down at the ground
there's something to eat, that's for sure.
You'll often see some really fat ones,
they're there on the tarmac each day,
and sometimes you may see a flat one
who didn't get out of the way....

Aimlessness-03
Obscurity cared for the infant's pediatric life innocently where the motherly lap was way to life
At four, a playground was farming fields and a rustic prayer home with brother and cousin
Collecting paddy straws to help my mother in cooking and learning religion were duties daily
Sometimes Dang-guli game and scuffle with same age villagers were daily kith and kin
Losing a daughter mother was careful about us, where I was favorite to them surly

Women's Lib
So you really think it’s better now
Free to learn and earn
What was missed in all the scuffle
Can you really count the cost
Seems to me that all I worked for
Way back in the day is lost
Coz it really wasn’t money
That made me work so much
‘T was a house and spouse and children
But t’ day I’m out o’ touch
Coz it really doesn’t matter
Who earns the right t’ pay
The Nanny and the granny
Who raise the kids t’ day
Double earning raised the bar so high
There’s just no other way...
