Aruba Here I Come

Headed to Aruba
Gonna have myself some fun
May even get to scuba
But I know I'm gonna play in the sun.

See ya when I get back!

A Day In the Life

Propelled by snorkel and scuba
That dreamy swim to Aruba
But the trip was long
Why? A heading quite wrong
Ended here...welcome to Cuba

Boracay Scuba Dive

Glaring plunge to sea,

                                      crystal schooling angelfish.

                                        Swirling orbs perish.

In Diving the Coast Off Aruba

In diving the coast off Aruba,
He thought he would play his best tuba.
The fish thought it odd,
The stingray said “Todd,
That isn’t the way to do scuba.”

Make a Wish

Sometimes I wish
I was an ocean
where scuba divers can
take a plunge into my blue depths
to uncover the rich buried treasures
beneath the floor of my heart
and cherish them for all eternity

Swan Song

When scuba diving in Iceland need to wear long johns Under your wet suit, at 32F, you'll never see swans They tried wearing sweaters Now they know better Otherwise, they'd have been singing their swan song

Her Future Dreams

I will become a conqueror when I grow up the young girl said.
With her lovely freckled face, fresh emerald eyes, and hair of red.
Or a race car driver
Or a scuba diver
Maybe even a professional football player or a flower bed.

I Will Never

I will never fly a plane
Or sail the seven seas
I will never roller skate
Or go down hill on skis
I will never hang glide
Or ride in a hot air balloon
I will never sing karaoke
Because I can't carry a tune
I will never scuba dive
Or climb a mountain high
I know I won't ever do these things
For I won't even TRY

The Scuba Diver

A scuba diver rents a boat
The driver of the boat goes
into the deep water
There he prepares himself
To be ready for the big dive
Then jumps into the deep water

Seeing some fish fish-he swims
Being side by side enjoys
          the fun
When the divers tires
he returns to the boat
To take him to the shore
       once more

Scuba Experience

a thick suit envelopes me
the sun beats down
dang, this is so hot.
i feel sweat drip
and wrap around my arms
my first steps into the cool water
aww.....love it....
sweet coolness
further i go
panic rips through
what happened?
i don't know,
my mind goes utterly chaotic
i back float to shore
i try again the day of next
once i do, i crave more.

Drowning

Depression engulfs me into its depths and drowns me in its sorrow,
an ocean so deep that I fear I will never reach the bottom.
Instead, I just swim aimlessly like a scuba diver who is running out of air but can't remember which way is up.
I flail trying to find my way, but I can never swim out of its darkness.
When will I be able to come up for air? I am drowning in this feeling

The Scuba Diver

The Scuba Diver

we look down
signal frantically
‘come up’,
though it is already
too late

he dances wide eyed
with ecstasy
as the nitrogen
tickles his cells

anemones
cling to the steep
rock walls
fish feed and dawdle
incuriously

we peer through
our tiny windows
into the ink black sea

as he goes
free wheeling
down,
down,
a rictus of laughter
on his face

Censorship Relationship

no baby go
slow don't
i'm not a
jerk but

there are
rules needed
to follow so we
can be properly

posted so go
easy breath
normally
well as

normal as you can
be with excitability
before you go down
in the cage

sharks can sense
nervervousness
so just relax
remember

SCUBA means
Self
Contained
Underwater
Breathing

Apparatus
so take it
in slowly
turtle
woman

Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving Heavy SCUBA tanks As if flying in water Everywhere blue Dry mouth icky salt Regulator gets knocked out Can't breathe in water See a shark hiding Marveling in its stealth Hope it's not hungry Running our of air Better get to boat fast Stupid lungs why why? Brightly colored fish And coral everywhere I wish I could stay

Well That Hurt

On a cruise ship in the sea
breaking blue waves peacefully,
yet once we land and I descend
the coral moves and shifts and bends.
Out comes something small and sweet
but packing punch; I know I'm beat.
A jellyfish: minuscule and bright
it shocks me and I'm full of light.
Grappling to the surface now
with water dripping off my brow,
"that sucked" I think, "It hurt like hell."
My trip to Jamaica sure was swell.

Would You?

if I could take you anywhere
to the ends of the milky way
a roller coaster on the sun
scuba diving on Jupiter
flying through the mountains
with a magic carpet on Pluto
to the edge of Saturn's rings
in a bubble under the deepest seas
farther away than light could reach
would you go with me?
Not because of the adventure
but because you simply
want to be with me
for no other reason than
to look me in my grey blue eyes
and tell me you love me

Take Me There, Please

I haven't been away,
For eight hundred plus day's
I've devoted my time,
To poetry Which rhymes.
To lyrics and song,
It's been too long.
I need a holiday,
To just leave and play.
Yes, that's what I need,
Take Me there Please.

Sunshine, Sea breeze,
Under palm trees.
To reflect, mind at ease.
Ooh, a luau indeed,
Fill me to the knees.
Scuba dive in the sea,
New beach party scenes.
Blue water, jet skis.
Do whatever I need.
Take Me there Please.

Scuba Diving

Our trip is planned. There's no going back.
Plane has taken off to the destination.

We arrive. Palm tree, beautiful flowers and
amazing scenery. We drive to the reason we
came.

All suited up and ready. The magnificent
ocean just ahead. We arrive and dive in.

Beautiful colors surround us. Many different
fish all around, colors of blue, yellow, red and
so on. We see sharks and rays. Amazing reefs.
Such a sight.

Scuba diving. What an experience..

Super Grouper, Sardine Party Pooper

Scuba diving, oh! what a dream
In the Gulf, amidst the Sardines
With a Florida blond
Whom I've grown to be fond
It's dark, is it all that it seems

Our dive is going oh! so super
Boo! said the nosey big Grouper
Och! do you have to be mean
To these little Sardines
Your just a big party pooper

Told of he goes in a mood
Just like a big bully should
Hey! next time take better care
To these Sardines you did scare
It's impolite, and you've been oh! so rude

I've Never

I’ve never climbed a mountain
Or gone up in a balloon
And if I never scuba dive,
Well, that will be too soon.

I’ve never rafted rapids,
Para-sailed or water-skied
And as for jumping off a cliff,
I just don’t see the need.

I’ve not trekked in the arctic
Or safaried with a guide
And if I said I wasn’t scared
Of all these things, I lied.

I marvel at adventurers;
They’re made of stronger stuff.
To read about or watch their exploits
Is, to me, enough.
