Run across and love with
All her heart. He is
Very handsome,
Intelligent and
Smart; I must say!!!!

String Dance

Buttery notes melt; run across strings of nylon; a song is born.
Staccato tap dance; leaping tones, echo each heel and toe tap.
The beauty of a classical guitar song, rides the air.

Chicken Feet Crosses Street While Eating Candy--

If chickens have feet, Why run across the street? Do chickens have teeth? And can they eat candy? What do they put in chicken feed anyway?

The Murals Heart

Red streaks run across the locked canvas.
Tears of anguish widen and elongate both vertical
          and horizontal lines.
Is it the lives spilled out on city streets?
Green blades of eternal renewal is the painters last
           stroke.

Kitty Eulogy

Stashu kitty hear our words
Follow the light, chase the birds
Run across the rainbow bridge
And daddy & I'll be there in a smidge

Clean Dos's ears and Apples nose
Now it's time for me to close
Wait on me dear friend of mine
I'll be there right on time.

Hologram

I see him on the park bench, his red soccer shirt

No pain, no anguish and no deadly hurt

He flickers like a hologram, finishing its show

Clouds emerge above him, shadowing his glow

I run across to meet him, my footsteps have no sound

Before I stop he disappears, he's nowhere to be found

Contemplations - September 2006

Smiles run across their faces

But I am beyond mellow

I want to run far away

But I want to never leave

I want to change

But I love myself

I want to go further

but I fear change

I want to succeed

I want to cut through my depression

I want to go on

I want to survive.

Kindhearted, Gentle and Forgiving

For Dane Ann's Kindhearted contest(Thanks for the challenge)

Love me when I am sick, blue and unlovable
Hold my hand when I am afraid
Talk to me when I am quiet
Listen when I want to talk
Don't push when I am slow
Run across the meadow by my side
Wipe my tears when I cry
Never leave me!!

Back To Court

Leaves fall across the streets
Like dissipated men who rush to the bar to meet
Quietness battles nature
As everyone is unsure of the future

Darkness creeps into the day
Like a thief would run across the bay
Tension mounts, sorrow encaptivates
For mankind is now faced with eternal judgement.

Ripples in the Lake

 Ripples run across the lake
  Racing to the shore,
The unmistakable call of a Loon
  Echoes across the water
When the echoes fade, silence reigns again,
  Marshmallow clouds floating by
 Cast their reflection on the water;
A cormorant dives beneath the surface
 To nibble on the clouds...

Beware

I'm dangerous
Like the piercing pitch of silence
Or like the sound of my heart shattering
Dangerous like
The sharp razor you run across your wrist
The bathroom floor that you sit and cry on
I have a dangerous soul
Full of darkness
And echoes
I'm dangerous
Like the pit bull held back on a rusted chain
I am not to be messed with

Thankful For First Loves

May we be blessed to acknowledge all the wonders in our life
that have, for us, thus far accrued…
and to begin each day with a word of thanks…
and thoughts of gratitude.

Today I’m thankful for first loves
often they become sweet memories of our past
but every now and then I run across a couple
whose first love
will also be their last.

Animals

Animal's should be free to roam and graze,
To run across a field in a sunny haze.

They shouldn't be locked in a cage,
Because one day we'll only be able to see them in a photo on a page.

To see a bird soaring in a clear blue sky,
Or a jumpy rabbit rushing by.

They all have to be a beautiful sight,
So spare a thought for the animals plight.

Triolet-Hyacinth

Pink and purple blossoms in clusters
Bulbs are revisiting from generation to more
Chills run across goose flesh from the frigid winters
Pink and purple blossoms in clusters
Icy snowflakes blusters
Sunshine decieves as winter roars
Pink and purple blossoms in clusters
Bulbs are revisiting from generation to more

Triolet in honor of Brian Strand

Lifes Journey

Life’s Journey

An adventure begins – a seed plummeted into a liquid pool.
A ripple arises – waves increase, they continue to expand.
They gain girth – they run across the crystalline surface of time.
They absorb much – their journey begins to wane.
They touch the shore – dissipate and are no more.

Journey Through Life

Swirling waves along the sea
Swerving leaves among the trees
 Gliding petals through the gardens
 Climbing over giant mountains
Stumbles and falls over the rocks
Through the road we run across
Hiding when it falls to darkness
Shining in the morning light
Ready when its time to fight
Running when we are going to cry
Asking God for our forgiveness
Before its our time to die

Mice Beware

To any little mouse I see, a cat makes a formidable adversary. If the mouse tries to run across the floor, chances are, it won't be around anymore. The cat is quicker, bigger, and stronger. It's a safe bet the mouse won't live any longer. All you little mice had better beware, there are cats on the prowl everywhere. inspired by another member's poem

Thankful For Children's Books

May we be blessed to acknowledge all the wonders in our life
that have, for us, thus far accrued…
and to begin each day with a word of thanks…
and thoughts of gratitude.

Today I’m thankful for children’s books
When we read them with our children
we discover all the magical things they can do….
like how, years later, when they run across that book
they will smile…and think of you

To Please

To please everyone is...
To climb the highest mountain.
Dive to the very bottom of the sea.
Hold your breath for twenty minutes.
Hug the Great Wall Of China.
Live for days without water.
Go to Antarctica for a day in shorts and a tank-top.
Swim every ocean in two days time.
Bungee jumping off Mount McKinley.
Run across the U.S. in two days.
To please everyone is to please no one.

Other-Worldly

An early morning run across a misty lake
comes in, fades out of view with every stroke I take.
With pace that ebbs and flows from tunes within my head,
I hope the rhythmic rowing will not wake the dead.
I try to focus on the things that Austin taught,
but mostly, in the moment, I’m enraptured, caught
up in this misty morning ‘cross unknown expanse;
time and distance slip away in other-wordly trance…

Dark Night Church

Bats flap around the eerily dark night church Creaking, the doors don’t quite open completely Black cats run across your path with a great lurch The moon is out but isn’t seen quite fully The steeple is casting a deep purple hue Lost souls in graveyard not knowing what to do Frighten any passersby that come on by And Jack-o-lanterns absorb souls where they lie Russell Sivey

Open Window

The clouds rolled by my
Open window
And deposited wisps of memories
as i lay awake
in the darkness
Staring into this foggy space.
Headlights fill the windows
And squares of light run across the ceiling.
A dog barks
once, twice.
Shadows move across the slit of light under the door.
Voices that strayed, peppered with pauses.
I closed my eyes
Wrapped myself in a gentle breeze
That blew away the fog
And I floated into sleep.

I Only Saw His Back

I only saw his back
as the man went from the shore;
his tee-shirt was a turquoise blue

Such wide shoulders -
a turn-on for any girl,
and a firmness in his step

His hair was thick;
and now, my dear, I'm struggling,
for I only saw his back

I will him to have children,
that man whose back I saw...
many children, who will run across the shore.

When Floods Come Freely

When floods come freely will we know
to place a dam below and catch the overflow?

When eyes are dim and spotty
will we ring the potty?

I wonder....when skin begins to sag
will our minds begin to freeze and lag?

Or will we run across the creek
our long lost family to seek?

Will we laugh for laughters sake
Or will we bake a cake?

When floods come freely
and age creeps higher sneekily....
Will we friends seek?
