leave unseen tracks
warm sands
ruffle velvet shoals
ocean sprays
release salty tears
fine pebbles
squeeze wrinkled soles
sapphire waves
grind sparkling glass
supple limbs
explore hazy shores
In this age of various disturbance,
whether fuss, aggrevation, outbursts,
spirits in ruffle,
take a deep breath, close your eyes,
think of serenity as better wise,
be calm, read a favorite psalm
and forget that word, 'kerfuffle'

Tether me with flowers

A wild gobbler strutted into the woods,
it did not see all the camouflage hoods,
straight into a turkey shoot;
trips over a gnarly root,

This day, the ocean within that I glimpse
between the light and dark – is still.
No wind or waves ruffle it.
Is it an image of peace, or only a vista of doldrums?
Perhaps with my ever changing moods
best to wait, better to drink from these depths

Swallows return bringing summer
Heat waves ruffle the spring air
Banyan tree’s scorched shadow simmers
As soil cracks in sunshine flare.
Night falls with ashes of burnt sky
With cool touch southern wind blows
Stars twinkle summer melody
Lifts up my parched mind morose.

There is garden activity every day
Produce and flowers need to play
They have to while their time away

Oh, trouble...trouble, trouble, trouble...
I refuse to let you ruffle feathers of mine.
High mountain, don't dare stand in my way;
I'll push and claw my way to your summit!
Dear obstacle, I defy you! Put me through
Any test, and I shall pass it; God willing.
