Love
Love
Lovers.
No soft word,
As people think but—
Cruel and tearing—a man sitting
In a rocker, most troublesome of all to woman
Why not make the most of life, son?
What have you got to lose
Easy to say, here in my rocker
Drowning my sorrows in booze
A royalty rest for small and big butts ~ everybody can enjoy the ride

The Thanksgiving feast was a shocker
When the turkey danced, doing the flocker
As the family looks on
Pour glasses of patron
Then assume the turkey was a punk-rocker
There once was this babe from Seattle
who'd get wild when bands squared to battle.
Absorbed like a sponge,
she redefined grunge
with each rocker she chose to straddle.
I'm a wild nomadic rocker
stratocaster guitar is my one true friend
~ trailblazing through this lifelong journey

Trump Further Inspect
When Trump we would further inspect,
Discovered has been a human reject;
Off his rocker,
And a mocker,
As well as dumb ***** we did detect.

Cuddling your shawl, Mama, I reach for you each night ...in heaven's rocker.

One, One Liner - Theme THE OLD ROCKING CHAIR
11.07.2016
The rocker is rocking fiercely and in an angry way.
Jack the pumpkin is in the worst mood today.
He did not feel respected, and never got his say.
The other pumpkins are scared, inching away.
Yes, blame the chick,
Rocker or hick,
Burning here,
Hands appear!
Witchy fire,
Doomed desire,
Blasted, didn't care,
She's a don't care bear,
Guess she felt good,
Blasted the whole 'hood!
Tuxedo cat, come ride me said the flamingo rocker
He ran over and jumped on and soon had a gawker
Can I have the next ride? Asked a mouse at his feet.
Tuxedo cat said “certainly,” for he looked good to eat.
The professor kept his cats secret because he was a man.
He had been told that cats were women’s pets by cousin Fran.
She was completely off her rocker, as crazy as a loon.
Still he was embarrassed when I saw all of them yesterday at noon.
your new beau is a strange brew
grandma says pushing back and forth
in the rickety rocker on her front porch
at the house that was old before she was born
and the familiar black cat sitting in a spot of sun,
meows loudly in agreement
Some of us were meant to age
of those I am not one
To grace a rocker on the porch
death by zero-sum
When youth is gone my will retreats
the candle at its wick
As dreams abate, the moment late
—flowers all but picked
(Dreamsleep August, 2022)
Rock it baby
I wanna hear you sing
fill me baby with all of your sins
dance for me show me your sexy sway
drive me crazy baby with your wicked way
you make me feel alive
''hot hot hot''
I can taste you now
rock it baby till I pop
rock it baby don't ever stop!
I placed grandma's rocker in the sun and now- my cats sleep there, snoring . . .

An Avid Pupil of "Mott the Hoople"
A Rocker from the Start
My Soul would Fear no "Megadeth"
But Lost my Heart to "Heart"
I'd never Plant the "Plants"
Or Turn the Page on "Pages"
Till I Cross the River "Styx"
I'll Rock the "Rock of Ageless"
I am in my outside office mad as a stung hornet.
It has been so long since I have used this computer
I do not know if it is on or off.
I have pushed the on-off button sixteen times.
Too bad I didn’t push it once and rest my fingers
since it is a rocker switch.
When I am old
I won't sit in a rocker
next to a window
watching the world pass by;
remembering the way things used to be,
wondering where years have gone
while eating a dinner of toast and tea.
Oh no, I will not do THAT... for
I intend to be a subversive senior!!

A Place to Remember
A wooden rocker remembers summer
Building sandcastles on distant sands
Wet towels, sunburns, sandy feet
Fireworks - s'mores; summer stars - barbecues -
Lullabies sung in its lap.
Grandma's rocker
Grandma would sit on her rocking chair
Rocking all day long.
The chair was her joy each day.
As she grows old.
She loved to rock on the porch.
As the car drove by she would smile.
Now the rocker is old.
It sets in the cold of the day.
Now that grandma is off her rocker!
The old clock had grown
a beard of dust.
The ink in the Underwood's ribbon
long dried in silence.
Frayed tassels of an old desk lamp
hung over the motionless pen.
Gnarled hands etched
the pain of goodbye.
Grandmother's rocker was still.
So was he.

The Old Scribe Poetry Contest
getting old
sitting on my rocker
waiting for mail
a package
from Amazon
with my first fast elder walker with seat
they say that this fast elder walker with seat
could last
up to ten years to the day
I do pray
that this walker
is not my last
and that it and I
don’t go too fast

Rocking in a chintz platform rocker,
Wearing a patio dress,
Day after day she hums a song,
“With someone like you.”
Through the window she watches,
He left her far too soon,
Dust and cobwebs around her gather,
She hums and rocks “With someone like you.
I’d like to leave it all behind.”
Who is your neighbor?
My neighbor isA little old lady.
With the brightest gray hair you ever seen.
And always has a smile to say hi with.
She has a rocker that I never been used.
At her kitchen and half the town smells like apple pie.
Which drives me crazy.
She's a kind old lady at all.
