I came across a dog whose tail was wagging.
I bent over to greet him, my body gently sagging.

A rolling drum of thunder resonated 
outside lightning twisted across the grey 
expanse of sky  simply inundating.
Trees began to tango, swirl and jive
while sheets of rain plummeted from clouds
pummeling our startled lawn,
emboldening the rhododendrons to bloom,
liberating the Clematis to sprout,
invigorating and exciting the whole garden 

and all before the first day of spring....

Except for an occasional
Brief stop for indigenous birds
on their way to the other shore.
The Tarzan rope hangs from the tree
Swaying slightly in the mild breeze
Above the dark shallow river
Where not long ago children played
And their laughter resonated

Ending with a cannonball splash;

On the side street, where the poet
took his nightly walk, shots resonated,
yelling, and a car driving fast;
on the pavement a man´s blood
was running into the gutter.
The police asked what he had seen? 

Nothing! 

You must have seen something? 
I saw a waterfall running down 
a mountainside in spring and 
the air was pure.  

Gangland murder?
Weeks later an envelope in his 
postbox, five thousand dollars.
The poet smiled at last someone 
had paid him for his poetry...

Patience is key
never move to fast
Grandma's sugar cookies

Its not about 
being cute and 
Matching,
Focus only on
God and attaching...

      A walk along the ocean meant
To cleanse the soul and lay it bare;

As shadows lengthened, they strolled on, 
      No feelings stirred, no words spoken, 
         What they had before was now gone,

No memories rang through the shore, 
         No relationship left to care, 
      They drifted apart more and more,

as it told me how I inspired it to die;

and echoed out a toxic lullaby

with a lost voice and helpless eyes
The roots were dry and I pleaded for life
But the petals withered,

as its thorns dug deep and scars ran wide
