Premium Member Patriotic Cousins
Patriotic cousins saluted the flag with respect.
Genuine pride in the USA they did reflect.
Their smiles were genuine, their clothes were pristine
Honesty and faith resonated from them with sheen....

Premium Member Prairie Solitude
The north wind blew across the prairie plains

The pearls of snow blew across the sea of white

Sparkling like white diamonds in the glittering sun

No sound resonated in the cold crisp clear day

It was a moment of prairie solitude....

Happy Days of the year 2023

Song of my lone life to sing in melancholic monotony.
Christmas- meet of Granddaughter this year tuned the song in sweet symphony.
Happiest days of the year resonated in perfect harmony....

Friendship
When the melody of your life
first resonated through my soul
it harmonized with the tones
which make my life so rich and whole
and when the lyrics reached my ears
which sang of joy, and even pain
it caused me to laugh, so smile, to cry
for my song has a similar refrain.
While your music in my ears persist
I am so thankful that you exist!...

Premium Member It Happened On a Rainy Night
“Foggy mists engulfed the bright
When raindrops fell throughout the night
The lampposts glowed at midnights dark
When sweethearts kissed at Lover's Park”

Silent lovers entwined in sensuous rapture
The thrill of fusion they desired to capture
Melody of love resonated in rain-rinsed wind
The gleam of dream melted miasma of mind...

A songbird serenaded trilling so sweet.
It resonated thru my soul.
I pulsed to the beat.
Sitting by the pond a frog greeted me.
I croaked back at him serendipitously.
I came across a dog whose tail was wagging.
I bent over to greet him, my body gently sagging.
I discovered a snake concealed in the mist.
I stood quietly in place and let him hiss, hiss, hiss.....

Air of twilight hour resonated in the silence of death,

I heard it compose the requiem for my final breath.

When at dawn the cadence of the symphony would stop,

you would find me in the transfixed glimmer of dewdrop.

A rolling drum of thunder resonated
outside lightning twisted across the grey
expanse of sky simply inundating.
Trees began to tango, swirl and jive
while sheets of rain plummeted from clouds
pummeling our startled lawn,
emboldening the rhododendrons to bloom,
liberating the Clematis to sprout,
invigorating and exciting the whole garden

and all before the first day of spring....

Pretentious
I shared my florid words
about our torrid love
with an ardent lover,
who exclaimed propitiously
that they were astonishing;
then solicitously,
she asked me to elucidate,
how did this prestidigitation occur;
from whence did I extricate
these words of exultation,
these harmonic chords of verbiage,
that resonated so intimately
with her psyche.

When the real question is:
how did they find me?...

FUSION Breathtaking brook braving brazen bruises became broken Entered estuary emanating exuberance Reopened rosary resonated rhapsodic raga Together these tides tried to tackle tortuous terrains Flowed far fathoms freely fertilizing fallow frontiers!

Singing To Me
Not long ago before
parting from me forever
more.
You sang to me a
beautiful song.
I loved the resonated
altos
of your strong
voice.

I listened intently
your non-wavering
allegro
tones.

Would have listened
capturing your
syllables
more careful.

Spilling forth
your beautiful song
you sang to me.
In minds-echoes
you sang me a
song today.

Tears swell and my
Eyes closed and
Held you close....

Melt Into You
Alone in my bed, I lie awake for hours thinking of you

Remembering your touch

In the morning hours, I fall asleep

Only to dream of you a bit longer

Your kind eyes and smile are resonated in my memory

Broad shoulders and strong arms I could melt in

Thoughts of what could be haunt me

You and I, together in love

Always by each other’s side

If you wanted, you could be

The water that quenches the thirst in me...

Aha
an AHA moment came to me
I realized that living
was more than living
living was more than surviving
living was more than toys, jobs, travels, and how much money I can aquire-

an AHA moment came to me
when I realized that no answers
are given unless one has the question to ask
and no guru will appear
if the lesson is not ready to teach
AHA! resonated within my being
and it was if
someone
turned on the brightest warmest light
within me....

Knowing Ourselves
In this life time
I met many people
In all walks of life
Some were funny
And some were boring
However when I changed my focus
I have had chosen to glimpsed
And talked with
A wonderful person as you
As our words rippled
In our hearts and minds
Somewhat indeed I felt inside
And I realized myself
Resonated everything in you
Laughs, cries, sighs and amazement
Created imprints in our souls
That someday they shall
Magnify as we grow....

Rivers Edge
The swimming hole is deserted
Except for an occasional
Brief stop for indigenous birds
on their way to the other shore.
The Tarzan rope hangs from the tree
Swaying slightly in the mild breeze
Above the dark shallow river
Where not long ago children played
And their laughter resonated
Loudest after each took their turn
Swinging out over the water
Ending with a cannonball splash;
But now these sweet, wet river brats-
God love them, all gone back to school....

Servies Rendered
Services Rendered

On the side street, where the poet
took his nightly walk, shots resonated,
yelling, and a car driving fast;
on the pavement a man´s blood
was running into the gutter.
The police asked what he had seen?

Nothing!

You must have seen something?
I saw a waterfall running down
a mountainside in spring and
the air was pure.

Gangland murder?
Weeks later an envelope in his
postbox, five thousand dollars.
The poet smiled at last someone
had paid him for his poetry...

Relationships of the Future
Loyalty and Faithfulness
Now words of the past,
Open relationships
But you really expect
it to last?
Self esteem issues
often duplicated
Late night text
are often fabricated
assassinated
Tears falling
Crying resonated

Relationships last
when morals
are involved
Old girlfriend
past lies
Unresolved
Patience is key
never move to fast
Grandma's sugar cookies
Great taste
But never last,
Its not about
being cute and
Matching,
Focus only on
God and attaching...

Murderer
I held a wilting flower in my hand
as it told me how I inspired it to die;
how my words resonated with its symphony of pain
and echoed out a toxic lullaby

I held the wilting flower in my hand
with a lost voice and helpless eyes
The roots were dry and I pleaded for life
But the petals withered,
Inspired to die.

I held a dead flower in my hand
as its thorns dug deep and scars ran wide
My hands, stained with red
Still reeked of shame,
but the blood that trickled, wasn’t mine....
