Insomniac Prison
Out of step was I in my insomniac prison, finally breaking out to recapture some of my circadian rhythm.

You ran your fingers
Through the starlight
Your eyes shone bright
Against the backdrop
Luster of elation brimming
This moment of rapture,
We forever try to recapture...

Words
Words can paint colors no artist hand can draw.
Express such emotions which fill others with awe.
Describe a scene so vividly that one can see it all.
And recapture memories that years cannot recall...

Memories Escaped
memories escaped
from the subconscious
mind were they had
been hidden away
for years
recapture the memories
repressing and
suppressing them
once more
locking them back up
once again in
their mental prison...

Where's the magic
When I was small
The skies were a deeper blue and magical
Food tasted different and wonderful
Everything was new and fanciful
And I was innocent

Where's that entombed?

Can I recapture freshness
uniqueness and amazement…

anew?

Enrapt
Darkness and light
capture the morn
capture a mood
capture a grown-up world
that sees in black or white,
cut and dried, up or down
needing to slow and find
the calm of gray,
the peace in average,
the quiet of second place
enrapt to recapture
the reverence
of a child....

A Heart's Paradox
White hat black cat par, enigmas...
Precious the innocent young child
Seven or eight; shyly, as curiously
Peeking around, the opened door
An image birthing wings of flight ?
Scrambling to unravel, this maze...
Recapture a purity which lived; try
Making sense; love's, what's why's....

Premium Member I Love You To the Moon
Do you remember in the beginning, that is how it was? If life grants us enough maturity, we can recapture and sustain what was lost. But not an easy thing, the deepest love’s power can manifest in both good and bad ways. Granting only the lucky few, the insight needed to learn the way....

Kept Alive
Tried to keep something alive
that died so long ago
turned around
and shot one at me
suffres that has grown
tears never released
now all blowed up
no meaning for what i've done
all my work
unused
so now your gone
left me soundless
to recapture the bullet
that went straight through me....

Ego
It's such a crying shame

Because we will never know just
how great he could have been

Because he let his ego run riot
and take over his talent

And sadly he couldn't recapture
his former self or it

Because his ego simply wouldn't
allow him to entertain the thought
he could possibly be anything
but right not wrong...

This Mess
Why can't I laugh at his jokes the way she does,
their was a time, their was.

Why must she continue to lurk around,
trying to recapture what she thought she once found.

Why can't she accept he has a wife,
Why won't she just stay out our life.

Why can't I accept he has a mistress,
Why can't I just get out of this mess.......

Premium Member Where Have You Gone - Fresh Fluffy Snow
where have you gone
  fresh fluffy snow
glistening over meadows
  on rooftops in rows

where have you gone
  bracing December air
deeply breathed, adored
  on cheeks ruddy and fair

purge the slush from muddy lanes
whisk the grime from icy lanes
recapture the magic of that first snowfall
paint flakes of frost on my windowpane...

The last emperor, February chill,
Provokes nostalgic lust for summer heat -
My cool companion, Snowman, bittersweet -
I'll melt in hot embrace, he never will.

One vibrant life with season rapid flow,
No time for a preparatory draft,
Recapture every brush of nature's craft -
And frolic in the sun and in the snow.

The Fear
The fear of a dream lost
a memory gone
a tear dried
the past

how to recapture
what once was?

how to encapsulate
days gone by

the fear is so deep
the bottom cannot be reached

where did i lose my dream?

please let me sleep
so that i may dream
that dream
again

to wake
for the mere sake
of keeping the dream alive
to never lose it
again...

Premium Member Citrus Delight
Absentmindedly, I placed
the slice of orange
in my mouth.

As my teeth penetrated
the thin outer skin
the flavor burst on my senses
like fourth of July sparklers.

I closed my eyes
to savor the moment.

Slowly, I chewed
as the sweet, tangy
juice filled my mouth
and ran down my chin.

Greedily, I ate
but could not recapture
the utter delight
of that very first bite....

The bright red convertible

 His midlife-crisis-mobile.

  Traded his faithful pick-up truck

 For newer wheels.

  Traded his faithful wife

  For not as new mistress.

Changing his life , he said,

  Changing everyone elses too.

  Trying to recapture a youth

He had only had in dreams.

  Bright red convertible.

  The midlife-crisis-mobile.

  He should be happy now

  But was he?...

REMEMBERING

Age sedates the imperfections of youth
excuses passions and
accommodates inexperience
Yet we heap glory on the culture
of their newly discovered experiments.
Often we tremble to see them go astray
biting away at civilized norms.
But when they reflect our dreams
of hedonistic excesses we smile
and wonder how to recapture the fire
that now simmers; a burnt out ember
of a flaming heart.

Delightsome butterflies (not those of the nervous kind)
are tickling my insides. When he's not around,
delectable daydreams flutter sweetly through my mind.
To see him gives me more anticipation
than when I was a child waiting up for Santa!
His gaze, his kiss, his grace - poetic inspiration.

Take Me Home
There are times in my life that I long for
Always at the back of my mind I do yearn
Knowing that the place where I do belong
Every childhood memories good and bad

Maybe I drifted far from there over the year
Eventually those years have now long gone

Home is where my heart and memories are
Only time will tell if I will ever return again
Maybe I am longing to recapture my youth
Everyday I know that I built my new home...

Women who stay have dog love.
Beat me.
Kick me.
Demoralize me and my children.
Put me down.
Call me names.
I will love you no matter what.
Women who stay are waiting to recapture
The love that was,
and hold onto the
What still might be
He didn't mean it.
It was only once.
He's a good guy.
Women who stay have dog love.
Their abusers depend on it.
Stay all you want, women,
But could you please
send out the children?...

Longing
The dog lies between us,
bridging the gulf
that's grown between us
over the years.

She whimpers, you groan
in your sleep.
I sigh awake,
longing to recapture
the dreams of our youth.

When we longed for children,
longed for someone to love
besides ourselves.

Longed with an abandon,
because we couldn't imagine
life outside ourselves.

Longed and loved
and hoped for something
beyond this bliss.

To keep us together....
