Dream Keeper

dreams tucked in my pocket as I journey through life sometimes swept away by chilling breezes but reach for them again, I will recapture them they’ve taken me this far like a compass, they give me direction lost I’d be without my dreams pointlessly going through the motions lifelong companions dreams I will carry until my last day

A life without dreams is not living at all. Dreams do guide our lives, our choices, our ambitions... I love it Carolyn! Lay

I really like this one! To me it says, you can't stay sane in a chaotic world without dreams. Dreams are something everybody has, so everybody will have a different opinion on you're poem. Which is what poetry is all about (in my opinion) letting the reader wonder off in his/her thoughts, picking away at thier brain about the write. Good work, my friend. Danny

This poem sounds like me. I have every intention of dreaming until I dream no more Carolyn. Some of my poems are results of dreams, and long may they continue. ( Patrick Dalzel-Job, was an incredible man. It was he who introuduced me to Sea Fishing. My first view of a Conger EEL, awesome it was. Not many people have stayed with James Bond....:)

This is a great write Carolyn. This darn computer is so slow at typing words it is driving me crazy. Anyway, dreams seem to give me directions and I am such a dreamer. I have been places in my dreams bringing to mind that phrase--I've been everywhere man-----. My one son said, he hardly ever dreams and I could write a book on my dreams. Maybe my mind is to active. ha ha love phyl

Darn those pesty characters remaining. ARGH! I am NOT a poet, I'm a novelist and rather long-winded. That character countdown drives me batty!!! How about you? Anyway, sorry for the rant, I wanted to also say good luck in the contest! I really like this one, and I'm certain I am not alone in this sentiment. 188-184- 179- Well, look at that I still had 141...LOL Toodles!

Hey Carolyn, I like the idea of a dream being recaptured. They can, indeed, be slippery lil' suckers. Thank you so much for your kind words on my own entry for this contest. I am so, so, so sorry if it caused you any pain. I DO absolutely know what that is about! I don't know your details or age (I was 42 when my miracle happened, I'll be 45 this summer with a 2 year old. I'm asked if I'm grandma all the time- which I'm truly cool with :-) ). Could I pray for you? Miracles DO happen. Hug-Cyndi
