Change

The bright red convertible His midlife-crisis-mobile. Traded his faithful pick-up truck For newer wheels. Traded his faithful wife For not as new mistress. Changing his life , he said, Changing everyone elses too. Trying to recapture a youth He had only had in dreams. Bright red convertible. The midlife-crisis-mobile. He should be happy now But was he?

I guess we all go through it at one time or another. Some give up a lot more than they realize. Vince

you certainly captured someone trying to recapture his youth in this fine telling poem, Francine. ....he said ...as he drove off into the sunset in his battered old 92 pickup .... Midlifecrisis mobile. hehe heh I like that. -Robert

I guess he didn't make it thru the change of life. Red convertibles and slightly used mistresses won't keep him happy long. Thanks for reading and commenting on my poetry today. Love, Joyce

Was he happy? Maybe for a minute or two. I like your form and style. Love, daver

yep it is never what you expect. My brother has had wives and now none. He needs double hip replacements and is in trouble being alone, with no help.
