‘ Prized-Garden ’ Haiku # 5
A Gated – Garden …
Which Held All The Flowers, Bright
- I Forgave Warden …
The hourglass of moments ebbs and flows
One snap, prized journeys are gone
Remembered as one's past .
Not for Contest--
twilight’s prized flower
flute bells enlightenment ~
luna’s bride bouquets
Silver, cyan eyes
Had to live through all the lies.
Witnessed mother's cries
For one they now realize
Died feeling he's not as prized.
Can Jesus be surprised
If we give our gifts unguised
Give in His name
He likewise will proclaim
You did for Me as you did for My prized
The bully met his match.
His bag of marbles his prized possession.
Little Mark challenged the brute.

There once was a witch named Maleficent.
Her powers ranked highly malevolent.
Her eyes became crossed,
Her prized powers lost,
Her black witchery now beneficent.

Which career path did you choose?
Does your gift give or take
I would the to be smart it’s the most
Prized possession of the dark arts
Well earned respite light
Flexible form reborn might
Beauty etched about
Mellowing of lingering doubt
Loved, prized, just the right surprise.

I'd like to be one of those prized grandmas who cooked and baked and everyone highly praised them; today we just throw food together and call it done -where is the homemade

Each note rising, ebbing

A Prized Refrain
Oh you poor dear, no comments either?
Maybe you were a little to hard on the beaver.
I’m sure some you will get.
You are their prized pet.
Just like Eddy Haskell and Ward Cleaver.
Sumptuous sensual satin surroundings
Treasured plush, palatial, plushy pillows
Upholstered sofas, tasseled tapestries
Valued prized spoils of war
Wealthy coffers of the lucky highborn
Left or right
the noise drones on
Distractions prized,
the message gone
What’s right is right
unless it’s left
The truth beguiled
—our soul’s bereft

Of a once ten year old
During a homescience class
For her daughter one day

A PRIZED REFRAIN
A shirt
Form:
A golden mote grates
on dusky blue
portent of divine excellence
radiant white nestling
in the humble nook
honed by an oyster
who unveils prized secrets
of the deep
in shadowed places.
no timing is perfect
time remains a lie
for it is untruthful
and it is unjust
from its birth to
its death, time
is its own up and down,
until time is prized
all of time is
imperfect time.
this friendship
it holds me
until i hold your hand
if or when i spit up butterflies
from being trapped
in your warm embrace
soaked by heavy rains
weighed down by my most prized possessions
plush peach peonies
persistent pleasing perfume
prized prodigious pearl
dazzlingly divine
dramatic dark dahlias
days dreamily die
magic moonflower
mild mystifying maiden
modish at midnight
Mortality
fills our lives
with meaning
Procrastination
the future’s
bane
Today is prized
tomorrow
questioned
The moment’s
treasure
— our souls to claim
(Dreamsleep: October, 2024)
The little white house
one hollow, pale May
gapes wide dark bowels
devours a prized race.
Screams in the black
tunes and sweet song.
Hair to power looms
Last waltz of souls
in carbon streaked flames.
Our prized First Amendment
has been challenged.
Now we must hide to whisper
in concealed corners.

This tide of evoking
Of its fear-chilled onrush
Eves, o'ertaken by.
Teared wreck am whereby.
That which blows, sun's last gasp
From out: regret; regret.
Met, prized as too late
True love. Its bright fate.
