I'd like to be one of those prized grandmas who cooked and baked and everyone highly praised them; today we just throw food together and call it done -where is the homemade

Agree Karen...in my family, gathering for food has been the source of emotional and physical healing, healthy, home cooked food to share cures all! Tho my Mom is in hospice in a nursing home, (94, I'm 67)she's all excited about our traditional (Catholic) Holy Week food!

I grew up on home cooked meals. That's how I raise my family too. Every now and then we go out to eat. That's good your mom looks forward to your tradition!!
