field of red poppies
shrine-like aura of petals
salute the fallen

River of poppies
The valley with beauty floods-
Earth's exaltation!

The drooping lilacs
resemble the wilted poppies
that wait for rainfall...
their spring glory has vanished!

In innocent lie
Amidst the lightening dew
Poppies in mourning
She unknown, taken at will
Where now a butterfly sits
.
gold blooms spill down the Franklin slopes,
a sudden sunrise rooted in the earth,
desert wind brushing color into motion.
Red splash of colour
Golden field of wheat, stupor
Silent micro feet
Atmospheric mackerel sky
Unhurried kind of beauty.
Springtime, yellow daffodils nodding gaily
Tulips open like poppies in the sunshine
Plush grass sprouting creating luscious cover
Enticing romance
scent of damask
roses floods the air
poppies wave

poppies swaying
against somber skies

Lying on my back
Golden poppies surrounding
Heads waving at me
Backdrop the blue of dreaming
Colored moment of pure bliss
heat
flows
through me,
stirring old
grief I thought was gone~
poppies blazing like fragile hope,
teaching my heart how broken places can bloom again
CANVASSING A FEUD
symmetrical spots splatter
on a blue butterfly caught
in a feud between poppies
— the artist’s revenge

poppies lost their red the night of the orange moon.
They burst into a new vibrant color, tangerine some said.
The remnants of the castle called it a Florida night.
Nature's most beautiful creation
A field of poppies in a Belgium location
World War One
Fighting the Huns
But the Spanish Flu was the next altercation
A sea of red poppies waving
under a clear blue
azure sky
takes my breath away
and makes me sigh
Lost in their simplicity
and beauty.

Corduroy blue sky
Sprinkles magic dust
In the crystal air
Orange-yellow poppies
Refuse to close their eyes,
While the blue oxen plow
The olive green fields,
East of Eden
Roses love
but beware the thorns,
Lilies remember
those that we mourn,
Daffodils whisper
of coming spring,
Poppies dream
a great many things.

No ripple of breeze could be half as gentle
than those tiny feet, as they lightly tread
through the open meadow of poppies blooming
while morning sunlight lay gold on her head
Spring
ripples
through luscious
flowery plots.
Manoeuvring into a large cul-de-sac
I climb a low stile only to find a
picturesque scene,
vast field of
poppies
red.
