Casey Kasemus played the hits,
Renaissance songs so pretty.
It was as good as was it gets,
a countdown of dulcet ditties.
its world knows
everywhere there a field there
go train play in the rain
its a out let
that your can bet
also heals thinking pain
PLAY THE GOLF GAME
Could be either senryu or haiku
chipmunk plays on drive
enjoying trees verdant shade....
mother's day plant waits
Moving body car
Mouth plays engine sound, hands drive
Happy childhood game
Perky pink python plays a piccolo
Perforated opossum practicing as pro
Pretty prancing porcupine poke Pinocchio
Pronunciation phrases performed in pleasing prose.
a poetaster, ballard monger, avid rhymer
churning outverses, a prolific old timer
a wordsmith, lyricist, jotting notes everyday
prolific poeticule, laundering words in play
Wind plays in yellow
Corn hidden in golden dress
Autumn reveals her.

the only one who plays Joe’s drum is the dog
His tail bangs into it as hard as a stiff log
He plays it on the way out, he plays it on the way in
Bang goes that drum, this dog is not thin.
dark lightning darts through
zigzagging into the house ~

For Robert James Liguori's "Black Cat Haiku" contest
Mouse plays a flute
Dibbly dibbly dibbly doo
The sounds are melodic
High, with a wobbly woo
We begin dancing
And humming in a fine rhythm too
The flute makes us smile
Dibbly dibbly dibbly doo
He plays her like a piano
She is not resigned, she is thrilled
Loving the way he strokes her keys
Compliant with no complaints
She grins her ivory whites and blacks
Excited to have found her true love

unreal, unknown
maddening, bewildering, puzzling
doohickey, widget ~ gizmo, contraption
entertaining, guessing, laughing
funny, not funny

Universal change
destroys to renew with in
plays in creation
Jazzy Cat was playing the beatnik cat blues.
He has lost so much, what else does he have to lose?
There were many comments, about his granny glasses’ hues.
Straight out of the sixties, he was yesterday’s news.
Mike’s mistress loves wearing short skirts
She nibbles his neck, how she flirts
On the day he's caught out
There’ll be trouble no doubt
His missus will kick him where it hurts!

Mind is a child, stubborn, mulish,
Maybe bullish, but not foolish.
As some from wisdom school
Say, let your mind play fool,
Cheer it up, never admonish.

gone astray in a world of her own
she earnestly embraces her whims
dancing to a wistful melody
that truthfully only she can hear
and the abiding stars play along
spinning round in graceful harmony

Ever the same
and ever changing.
Turn your face to me.
Show me things
i can't replace,
show me things
i cannot see.
Frantic wishing
mind of passion,
show me sacred ways.
Some things
don't go out of fashion
like the way the
sunlight plays.
Form:
On his trumpet
Willie happily plays jazz every day
his canvases dance and applaud
he adores the French quarter
who would go to New Orleans his kin had taunted him.
Willie was grateful.....
his parents' disappointment had chased him to his best life
The music plays
Soothing sound fills the air
The keyboard erases worries
As the sun makes its way through the clouds
The rays dance to the melody
Flickering through the green leaves
A sun dance is in the making
As the music plays

penning soul’s musings each morn
spontaneously arising from within
rhythm in heart is magically born
causing poetry in mind to spin
there then thus is no one here
all that is, is but universal mind
wherefrom we see forms appear
with heart’s core instincts aligned

Played golf
First nine
Went fine
Next nine
Not fine
He muffs
In roughs
Sand trap
Oh crap
Tough break
In lake
Bad hook
In brook
Blew putts
Some klutz
Hurled putter
In gutter
O'er par
By far
Disgust
He cussed

Sometimes, God plays Charades
And expects me to understand,
And I don’t.
But sometimes,
I get it!
(Or, do I?)
Is it pride that tells me that I understand?
Sometimes, I know I do…
But that’s not always!
Who gets it all the time, I wonder?
Probably a Saint!
Ah, well!
air does not reply
air does not supply
air does not react
air states not one fact
what air does actually do
is force me to get a clue
next time God Sprinkles me with that Rare Specialty
i will treat such a Blessing as a Rare Gem and not allow that icy fear to successfully wrestle me.....
Empathy plays my poet’s heart
Most of my doubts concealed artfully
Worries play such a minor part,
As my poems are created heart-fully.
