Alone
but not lonely.
Pedaling along an
odoriferously perfumed
pathway....

Pedaling Meddling Horm
Pedaling Meddling Home
Was perturbed when we found Trump pedaling;
Many illegal things which in had been meddling,
He horribly joked;
We were pervoked;
When combined all of this became unsettling.

Trump Is Pedalling Meddling
Trump Is Pedalling Meddling
Sure seems pathetic when President is pedaling;
In other party's affairs always may be meddling;
After pausing,
Trouble causing,
When things down, Trump should start settling.

My Love ''Ii''
my
love
aborted
what of this
mind contortion
mental abortion
slide a little closer
tell me of your closuer
sculpt me another poser
pedaling all my words
lettering into herds
fabricating sound
chains unbound
through
the galaxy
shove me
into
my love

Summer '86
Banana tin yellow
a little dented in on the side
but still perfect for pedaling
Standing against the wind
eight figs in a basket
sticky white at the ends, been picked
Hair in salt strings
and jeans with two holes
with enough wear left for the summer
Two best friends
flying down Heartbreak Hill
at cactus speed, big eyes, no hands......

Parched Memory From 1969
Pedaling along
a rocky road,
a dusty road,
a hot and sunny road.
Pedaling past
dry, rocky fields,
dry, dusty fields,
hot and sunny fields.
Surprised to see
a lily flower,
a lonely flower,
a kid stoning it.
Pedaling back
The setting sun lay low across the field.
Boy, flower and memory are long gone....

We Call Him Silver
Lee rides a silver fish all day long was the report.
We call him Silver, and he is a good sport.
What is a silver fish? I asked my friend Tike.
Not sure, he answered, but it looks like a bike.
Silver Fish is a customized contraption made by Lee
He must purchase a car though, if he wants to date me.
I am not fond of pedaling, I have a bad right knee.
So, Silver and I decided to never a couple be....

self confident Mort
March hare rides a bike to twinkle town court
The rest of the bunnies are a bit jealous of Mort.
He thinks he’s all that, and I guess maybe he is.
Said a caramel-eating rabbit named Oldie McGizz.
Mort hears the chatter, and smiles deep and wide.
He has self-confidence, which means he likes himself inside.
He keeps pedaling, all the way to twinkle town court.
Thinking to himself, I am the most amazing Mort....

Grandpa and I
Grandpa took me to the ice cream store.
On my tricycle, yes, I was well_loved!
What girl in braids, could ask for more?
There were comic books there, too.
Pedaling along, in my white sandaled shoes.
And yes, paste and new pencils, too.
Friendly butterflies and lovely, tall trees
Birds of all sizes, that chirped so merrily.
What lovely days~that gave birth to poetry.

Pedaling Bliss
At long last your lover's grips greet you, soft and familiar.
You step on the pedal that is home's threshold welcome;
Squishier than freshly baked bread, your buns are in the saddle.
You push off... your spirit turning over like a motor.
With silver satin streets sliding under your wheel,
Tickled by the wind in your hairy shins~ you squeal.

No Where But Here
on a velocipede against traffic pedaling hands free texting cyberspace
at the last minute the millipede with its mani pedi went to the stratosphere
to meet the dog up there.
What to be found you ask me raised by the jesuits
if I know my gum it is juicy fruity
for the cat to lick and god forbid the swallowing
what a nougat were the carmelites
if not caramel of a camel to carry the load
of fear the mighty ruler under the knees...

Unicycle
He was pedaling in my direction,
His feet never losing control.
His age? 9 or 10 I am guessing,
But his confidence lit up his soul.
We locked eyes for the briefest of seconds.
I was grinning and though he held back,
I could tell that the hint of a smile
Was just busting to peek out a crack.
For he had to know that he was special –
You don’t see unicycles each day –
But the streets of New York do encourage
Every talent one has to display....

Days of Youth
The days of youth
I remember well.
To tell the all
is hard to tell.
My mother's face
so warm, so fair.
Her heart held my love
and kept it there.
Lazy summer days
spent running free.
Time swimming in creeks
and climbing tree.
Pedaling down lanes
with sisters three.
Who thought it their job
to take care of me.
Looking back at mistakes
that were made.
The time to fix
I would not trade.

My Unicycle Ride
It's my first time riding a unicycle,
I am terrified.
I don't want to let go of this wall
and end up mortified.
My friend had told me it was easy;
Now I know she lied.
She promises she'll be right there
and she's by my side.
I take a breath, I shift my feet,
I pedal just a bit.
The wheel scoots forward, so do I.
Finally, I commit!
I let go, pedaling forward,
I'm finally doing it!
I laugh with joy and stop the cycle.
Now's a good time to quit....

Crack of the Bat
Bat, ball, and glove, a sacred rite of spring
Timeless afternoons of joy shared by all
Everyone gets a chance to give a swing
To meet the challenge: putting bat on ball.
Stretch, windup, and pitch, a flaming fastball
Hitter gives it flight with resounding crack
Outfielder’s eyes wide, then pedaling back
Jubilant bat toss, he breaks into run
Pitcher’s shoulders droop, his jaw going slack
Outfielder against fence, it’s a home run!

Drought
Pedaling along river drive
empty plastic grocery bags
fluttered and flapped from tree branches
like lost battle surrender flags
that line the drought-stricken river.
Their interspersed clings reminded
me of inundated levels
this now anemic river reached;
where once the floodwaters surged south
along its journey to the sea
its now imperceptive flow
struggles, its intimate's exposed:
river-bottom, water-worn rocks
sit like petrified bowler hats....
