Eternity
Why are days looking like endless lifetimes,
Mistimes of pastimes...

As all I have is a mortal heart...
Foretime the thwart, an impart....

Not found in dim pastimes of the hopeful,
nor water, or mellow adventure.
Your essence is a rose
turned toward the sun.
Your magic, a free line drawn
from heart, to rainbow,
to living echo.

Joyce
Joyce

Joyce is an adventurer.
One of her favorite pastimes is exploring nature.
Yet she still finds time to do some crafting, too.
Cooking is another of her joys.
Every Friday she helps a sick friend with her store.

Premium Member Summer Pastimes
Sipping sodas with my sweetie,
Strolling with him hand in hand,
In the warmth of summer evenings
  Listening to our favorite band.

We would linger in the moonlight
Out on the porch at my front door.
When I said, “ I must go in now.”
He would whisper, “One kiss more.”

The sweetest time I’ll ever know
That summer of the long ago.

Pastimes In Old Novato
crawling through tall green grass
making miles of tunnels
in fields all around

a lake, the yearly rain makes
floating on rafts
crafted from grandpa's woodpile

hot brown hills of slick dry grass
slid and sped down
in cardboard boxes

old knotted oak tree
climb up like a ladder
jump into leaves piled high

acorns falling
my childhood pastimes
wonderful memories of home...

Nag
Feeling trapped and alone
Fed up of being home
No one listens anymore
I feel like such a bore

All I do is nag
I need a punching bag
Constant reminders
Where's our silver liner?

Half finished jobs
Me and my big gob
Courses to finish
I can see you grimace

It wasn't meant to be like this
I envisaged bliss
Reminiscing the good times
Longing for our pastimes...

Small Ramada vacation time
Unutterable sundowns
Mid-solar dawns early sun rise
Many moderate new moons
Ethereal dawns
Respective solid solstices
Thermally heated topical formulations
Idle pastimes individual heated
Many bright days
Early cool daylight heated evening nights

Speeds
As we travel at the speed of sound
searching for something profound

our soul unbound and love is unfound
it is a miracle that we are still around

the speed of love too slow to measure
pastimes and guilty pleasures

we walk at the speed of life through the fire
we hope,dream,and desire

we all are moving forward at one speed at a time
we move fast, slow, or sometimes not at all, but we all move...

Smart
It's time for me to change
People repeat their pastimes
And make the same promise each year
But it's time for ME to change

For that I must arrange
My goals in a smarter way
They must always stay:
  Specific
  Measurable
  Attainable
  Realistic
  Tangible
In order for me to change

Happy new year, I hear quite oft
It won't be happy until I make it so
My actions will determine the year
This time my efforts will show...

Summer Hat
Summer Hat

Rose stitched onto a summer hat
Braided with love
Hung upon a wall
Overhead grandma’s twin sized bed
Alongside her church dress
Burnt orange
Long sleeved
Hemmed below the knee
Clear pear shaped crystals along its neckline

Good folk come around bedtime
Conversing over old pastimes
Words get through her head when she sleeps
A song through the lips
A peck on the cheek

hmmm'ing andt
yawnnn'ing......
but concerns be
as navigated so
it's up and to it
with a mind-set
to be an oar-knot
that questions the
weather.....that be
colder in pastimes
such that.....these
possible rain-days
may end the snow
andt...t'is better to
shelve both shovel
and boots.....to go
to that spring-melt
waterfall......where
the one andt...only
real good fishing
spot where deep
lines mean fresh
fish for the bbq

stan sands dust...

That Naked Feeling
I am walking around outside,
With nothing on,
No radio, no television, they subside
Even the puter is gone.

Such a wonderful feeling,
To feel so free,
The cool breeze blowing,
Whistling through ……… the tree.

You should come join me,
And see what it’s like,
Then just maybe,
I’ll let you ride my bike.

But until then,
I’ll enjoy it alone,
And remember when,
A better life was known

Days of the past,
Such joyous times,
I wish they could last,
Such great pastimes....

Memories
In memories that i hold dear,
As callow youth unfazed by fear.
Those carefree days so long ago,
My leap of faith, rash bravado
Emboldened by the atmosphere.

A photograph, my souvenir
A silhouette from yesteryear.
Recalling twilights sunset glow.
In memories.

As i look back, pastimes seem clear.
In thoughts once more i do appear,
Free falling to the waves below.
Exhilarating feelings flow
As voices from the cliff top cheer.
In memories.
