The Dance
They danced the salsa all night
An their dance moves were just right
They didn’t win on the floor
So, they headed for the door
When they realized the slight oversight...

Mobil viscous wrapping of life’s delight
nurture denizens now of blight.
Rebirth or grave from capped height
and from the prism site
Days of opal light
Nights of coal fright
oversight
right?...

Premium Member That Is the Question
To write or not to write–
Questioned our distinguished sponsor and creative host.
Oversight.

A sweet conflict–
answered by those who often post.
We pick.

Just this–
To write, foremost.
Yes!

To write or not to write–
answered by those who often post.
Yes!...

Premium Member The Miller's Daughter
Listen to poem:
The lighting, it was over-bright
and fraught was the miller's daughter.
It gave the miller man a fright.
The lighting, it was over-bright,
and damaged - quite an oversight.
That is when the killer caught her!
The lighting, it was over-bright
and fraught was the miller's daughter.

Death is less grave reaper
Than stone-faced gate keeper;
A dark doorman who waits
At eternity’s gates
Opening one to Light;
One to dark, fiery night.

He will surely show you
The exit to pass through!
As Death’s last oversight
He shuts the gate to Light;
Then Death will cringe in fright
Doomed to dark, fiery night....

Seconds To Live For
You say only if you have something to die for

                                  will you truly desire to live forevermore;

                                                      such oversight,

                                                     in broad daylight,

every second may lead nearer to heaven's door!...

Damning report points
finger red-faced rogues flee now
the witch-hunt begins!

NB This is a dark wry tale with hints of humour and irony about reports in general.
Perhaps a story about fraud or financial oversight.

Hearts Keeper
No response - My heart’s keeper? Surely you understand my request was not
merely a query to be considered - But a demand that must be fulfilled - You are
the one - The only one - We cannot escape our destiny

Are the stakes not high enough my beloved - Have I insulted you with only one life
in peril? Please know you have my humblest apologies - I will take care of this
oversight with due haste....

Wonder To Conquer
Let me walk in a path, charming welcome
Without surging, disperse in time to annihilate
Rakes with shadow in speed, “raks” in crushing limit
Left to matter will it be well define in spaceless dream
Unrevealed discrepancy boil in pot shifts in wonder
Eternal magic disper time of silhouette as oversight
Matter has conjugate above and beyond flush foul play
Conquer to past in present bound to unknown future...

On a Humid Night
On a humid night
Hot, as the heat wave strikes
Emotions that churn restlessly
Dark and fervid as the night.
Would it have been different
Could laughter show its might
But laughters are an echo
Far off......
In the distant daylight.

On a humid night
Tossing, the nightmares take flight
The clock that ticks endlessly
Dreams become a blight.
Would I have been indifferent
A shrug, an oversight
But hurts become an echo
And hits.....
Like a blistering smite....

Literary fame was no oversight
ever remembered for Wuthering Heights

She wrote a novel beyond compare
the very English,Jane Eyre

Keen obserrvation was her niche
as English literature she did enrich

Only seen through others eyes
her talents still can cause surprise

Custom made her hide her name
but Mary's talent found long-lasting fame

North and South,the divide
but her novel took no side

There Is a Brighter Side
There Once Was a Duck

there once was a duck who lived on a farm
ill-tempered, attacked folk, did them harm.
victims shouted, "please duck no"!
"stop it now or in the pot, you'll go".
there once was a duck, the point of this yarn.

Expiry Date
Look at this darn marriage certificate,
A piece of paper that has sealed our fate,
If packed things can’t stay fresh,
So does mind, human flesh,
But still I see no such expiry date!
