I Wonder
Oh sweet Christ Child I wonder
if the Wise Men ever knew
that Party frocks and cheese balls
would someday overshadow you?...

Tall Men Overshadow Small Men Who Overshadow Smaller Men Who Are Overshadowed By Tall Men
tall men overshadow the small men
in great sadness we all fall down
joy abounds from the inside of hearts and souls
tears fall like stars
onto the cracked pavements of old...

Of Wants and Needs
The epitome of greed is most simplistically the act of wanting
And a warning of abhorrent flaunting requires urgency to heed
You may wish not to concede, as your morality can be haunting
If you let it overshadow the daunting legitimacy of need...

Fear
Wherever I am,
Fear is,
Fear wears many faces.
If it is not love,
It is fear.
Love will overshadow fear.
The light of truth will overshadow fear.
When I embrace fear,
It becomes my ally.
False expectations appearing real are not the truth.
Faith will starve fear....

Premium Member A Trinity of Lilies
Three lilies stand in one pot's frame
and dance together to the sound
of their eternal breeze.

Each pure, the same,
no blemish in them found
moving each their different ways,
a trinity of ease.

No overshadow dulls another
nor leaves a lesser shine.
A trinity that needs no other.
A trinity divine....

Rememberance of Alex
As I go
this sorrow
should not overshadow
the message that is sent for all to borrow
no goodbyes, only tommorrow
see you later
death leads to a better life
after
you have shed light, on others lives
look up to the skies
close your eyes
I am here
I am near
through memory and spiritually
physically
as you carry on my legacy...

Overshadow
As we walked alone
Under a golden sun
By the water side
Gazing unto her
Holding her tight
Under the wedging blue sky
She puts her hands in mine
Mine in hers
Her lips on mine
Bringing on me a peaceful bliss
We were not alone
We were just a shadow
In the romance of the sun and sea
But still, our romance
Shadowed the affectionate sea...

Now Married Soon Widowed
A Woman of Substance,
Cited as An Instance,
Her name Lady Constance …
The rest giving Distance!

Then, she become married
On her wedding carried:
A Worshipful Bridegroom,
Who could wait for their room
But would rather off zoom
To it long swept with broom …

But mid-street Fatal Crash,
To the Man A Fate harsh …

Now married soon widowed:
By Death overshadowed!...

Premium Member My Hourglass

It’s late at night. I’m alone, as usual,
not merely alone . . . lonely, so lonely.
A vivid image invades my thoughts--
an hourglass with innumerable grains
of sand, nearly all in the bottom.
I pray that reminders of aging and mortality,
whether subtle or blatant,
will not overshadow my desires
to pursue long-held goals and new ones.
Now I feel at peace; God is not through with me....

Seafaring Foreigner
Seafaring Foreigner

In steerage on a steamer with
Figs conceiving in Vesuvian soil
Hidden in a pot of a sturdy trunk
Made of hope and adventure. Fear of
Sights unseen and joys unbeknownst
Of sons and daughters yet.

Hazy canyons of skyscraping giants
Overshadow brick row houses
Hard at work, ethnic pride
Shameful bathing, worn-in
Clothing and nourishment
Beyond the return to
Much worse....

Choices
The melanin in my skin
Offend you
I ask why
Is there an answer
That could overshadow
The ignorant through
You let consume you
within your mind
Its sicking energy
Cold-hearted
A devil thought
To drag you to the darkness of hate
The difference can offend you
To compares people and things
Love can heal you
With understanding
There to side to every thought
It is the choice to live in the hate
Then to understand with love...

Premium Member Dedication To Robin Williams
Doubting the fire in your heart
Firewater to wash the tears
Laughter hides the rain
Witty lines to overshadow the silence and the pain
Missing Doubts, fired from life’s strains
Acting roles, never I me
The Big screen, keeping you all over there
As I play my own role, hardly can I bare
Enveloped in sadness
No letter inside empty walls
Fulfilled now, the dead poet
The comedic tragedy
Hanging up side down
Too tired, I retire

To the society yonder...

Premium Member Henceforth the Rains-
In the distance spies yonder kindling rise In thIs have I hearing screeching birds cry Full grown cedar tree hovers above me I feel the waves of the branches breeze It's a shame to see the frowning clouds As they overshadow and darken my view A different subject sublet as I suspect A ravaging rain coming forth sprawling I feel the ravishing storm approaching Henceforth the rain

Photograph
Send me a photograph of you in all your glory,
Stripped to the bare bones of beauty
And smiling in the noonday sun;
And I shall build my dreams around imaginary stories,
Walk in the paths of love and duty,
Until my empty days are done.

Send me a photograph of you in lavish poses,
Naked in the dew soft dawning
And lying on the Summer grass;
And I shall see you overshadow beauty of the roses,
Drink of your soul each waking morning,
Until my passing comes to pass....

Premium Member Just Because
Looking at a blank page is hard,
but often it doesn't take long
for the emotions boiling inside
to make their way out and
fill the page with sorrow, pain,
fear, hope, and finally joy
Because life is a mixture that brews
every day. I take it moment
by moment and refuse to let the
dark moments overshadow the light
even if I have to go searching for them
because I was made to soak in the good
things in life like a sunflower growing
toward the sun and soaking in it's rays...

What Are We Doing
I love you hell you adore me
what are we doing?
back turns; silent dinners,
triggers bothered by tensions
dreamy nights to cold sweats
the mind wonders the regrets
but frets on the thought of losing us...
what are we doing?
I ask you to tell me what are we doing?
cringe on the thought of another comforting you
no good morning passion
just daily mourning
the affection just dissipated
outsiders opinions overshadow the love
nothing even matters no more
what are we doing?...
