A Surgical Scissor

A surgical scissor cuts
To heal a man out of sorts
The surgeon operates the malignance
To remove the cancer of belligerence

Picasso in pieces —
a puzzle, out of sorts…
a commentary slice.
the raw rooster of war,
cocked and loaded —
a worldwide death sentence.

Fright of the Living Dead 2k12

O Tony, wherefore dost thou feel out of sorts? Existing so - tho' not soothly living. Haps thou art the living dead which resorts Into its cold chamber ne'er living.

The Traveling Fan

‘while the train is at the station
we're attempting moderation
Arsene, now that you’ve come into view
chasing Bojan in the dark
waiting for their bus to park
we’re frankly out of sorts so why aren’t you?’

Ole Bloody Mary’s a friend of mine
with splash of vodka and twist of lime.
tomato crush
which makes me flush,
yet, she leaves me out of sorts at times.

Premium Member Fitting Nowhere

i am pieces of granite wall
undetermined reason for being
tolerating chisel masters
crumbling into dust
falling into bowl of crevice
scraped up into Chinaman’s baskets
roughing up against dainty seashells
fitting nowhere
out of place
out of sorts
out of ideas

Premium Member You Can Take the Next Person

I sit and I wait totally impatient.
A bit out of sorts until I remember
I have a notebook in the car
Left there in September.

I run out to get it.
They call my name upon my return.
You can take the next person I offer.
Not wanting my turn.

Dentist office of course.

As I Am

My eyes are wide open and it hurts
It sends my body out of sorts
If there's a way to stop it let me know
Tell me the secret and I'll give it a go
Until then this is where I am
A different world than the one you're in
But never the less here I stand
Can you accept me as I am

A Toast

Of simple rolls to playfully wisp
to a beauty of a lovers kiss
to forgetting the day, as children at play
to knowing where to be, but still to stay
to simple words with complex meanings
to living life's fantasy, so near to dreaming
to being disorganized, and out of sorts
to keeping things beautiful, and short of course

Her

I can still hear H.E.R.
rhythm
in my head.
vibrations
off
my drums
H.E.R.
melodic notes
mesmerized me/baby/honey/you got me
beat.
out of sorts.
I said, honey/baby/you have
me
in tune
to your vibe
in an disorderly
fashion—wear me well—like the day
I said, baby/you/me/have/
have/me/you/
beat.
honey.
still.

Ode To Edna

Every morning you greeted us with a smile.
Even when you were out of sorts and it may have taken you a while.

You treated every customer always the same,
and in most cases you even knew their names.

I think I will miss you the most because you were who you are,
and I can honestly say I'm glad I knew you and in my heart you will not be far.

A Child With No Soul

Have you ever seen a Child
with No soul
How they seem alienated,
having in life, No purpose
or role
How they seem "out of sorts"
and, about to lose control
How they, thru Life, walk on
egg shells, like it's a bed of
hot coal
How they have No sense of
direction, in terms, of an
ambition or a goal
How they seem to have, in
place of a heart, an ice pump
with a hole

Feeling the Weather

drops of rain roll down my chin
what would one expect if they are under the weather
under the weather implies ill feeling or out of sorts
but stepping out of the rain does not eliminate the blahs.

so you’re under the weather and not feeling well
get out of the rain and hope it will clear
when feeling better the rain may have ended
patience can change your feelings and the weather

Two Years Too Long

I'm taking a walk, I need to get away.
It's been two years sense you died today.
Your always on my mind, I try to be brave.
Out of sorts, I arrive at your marble grave.
I brush the leaves off your stone.
So your carved name can be shown.
Even though I visit you everyday,
I always have new things to say.
I brought you flowers and prayers to send.
But one day in heaven I'll make amends.

Premium Member To Write What Is Asked

Irritable and out of sorts,
Jumbled emotions fill me up.
I want to write, but it hurts.
The topic, with sadness, erupts.

"A sad memory", the challenge was
But mine is sad beyond compare.
Not something I am prepared to write,
Feelings brought forth, too much to bare.

I shall attempt to put on paper
The saddest day in memory
But these are ghosts best left alone
And memories that need not be free.

Idanceforme

Pyroette like burning smoke
from molten faces spring
but lost on beatings thought
My gapes and gaits
are for your critical
I care to touch a base
and soul is disgraced
where dogs snooped
and the Doctor was not grey
where billie lost
causes all would here
Lost in a second you weren't
there there
take a second
Get your breathhtaerb
as awe beckons me back into the black
where rhytmh is out of sorts
and rhyme
don't

Premium Member The New Norm

the new norm
people seem more angry
out of sorts with each others
dissatisfied with life

the new norm
grandparents are two dimensional
seeing their grandchildren on screen
manners are out of date

the new norm
thank you notes are unheard of
appreciation is answered with “no problem”
people sit next to each other and speak through text

the new norm
more suicides
unhappy people
Utube is raising the children
Their parents can barely feed themselves

Premium Member My Heart Went Cold

Fifty-seven years I'd trusted my pins* *legs
to bend to flex, to twist, to spring
  my body to soar
  to the basket on wings

Then one day as I gathered myself
to take my first shot
I felt my knees go 'creak'
my heart went cold, I felt old and weak

Sure enough, I had barely lifted up off the ground
as for my shot, it arced mostly down
I told my friends I felt a bit out of sorts
And wept for the end of my romance with sports

Commit

My heart beats to the sound of your name
but when you're gone I wonder if it can beat again
Words mean nothing without proof there's intention as the basis
We're running in the same direction but in two different races
My heart's all in, my mind's all out of sorts waiting for you
Unfortunately my wish for us isnt' going to come true
You can't commit to staying here, you can't commit love to show
And at the end of the day, I'm the same way, I can't commit to letting go

Out of Sorts

I feel out of sorts and don’t lie
When I say that I can’t explain why,
Or rather I could
But nobody would
Make sense of it, though they might try.

I have some decisions to make,
Though nothing important’s at stake.
Yet, still I am stuck
And not having much luck;
Fear of change is a trait I can’t shake.

Such an anxiousness often conceals
Other issues, although it reveals
Things I cannot express
That are causing me stress;
Lots of people know just how that feels.
