Merlin the Magic Cat
Merlin’s magic on the sax
listen to that hip cat blow
his smooth jazz groove is so sweet
he’s the cat’s meow, you know!...

Merlin the Magic Cat
Oh, he is a most wonderful cat
Who somehow grew covertly fat
Surprised by the mew
As no litter was due
And HE once again not so fat

Merlin the Magic Cat
When Merlin meows,
It pulls the piano strings,
A symphony plays,
There is a sequential flow,
A door opens to this world.

Excalibur
King Arthur knew not what to do
He pulled it with one hand, then two
He let out a groan
It’s stuck in the stone
And Merlin laughed, Hah, CRAZY GLUE!...

Whilst Merlin Sleeps (Cornish Verse I-Iii)
As you and I seek our thrill
upon the moon’s mystic strand,
whilst Merlin is sleeping still
awaiting all that is planned.
On Avalon’s highest hill
the dragon guardians stand,
Watching destiny fulfil
her magic across the land...

Merlin the Magic Cat
Merlin the magic cat
came upon a lazy afternoon to sit on my lap.
He wanted some love meow,
and to avoid the brush somehow.
Merlin the magic cat lives in my house,
and Merlin chases the little toy mouse.
Merlin loves to sit around and nap,
Merlin is my lovable kitty cat....

King Arthur
(Limerick)
There once was an owl named Argonne
That read a lot of King Arthur and Avalon
Of Merlin & the sword of Power
Of Camelot, and all the square
Knights, who sat 'round when Art call'd upon!

A Most Magical Cat
I’m not sure, perhaps t’was the hat
Or the way that she hissed and then spat
It seemed t’was as simple as that
Merlin was a most magical cat
Had a pet mouse she kept tastily fat
Which she fed while they’d idly chat
Till she tossed him one day in her vat
And a horned toad now sits where he sat.

Merlin, the Magic Cat
His lack of language
or empathy for Humans
led Merlin, the Magic cat,
although possessed of uncanny powers,
(Self-attributed)
into a life of furniture destruction;
fueled by his addiction to cat nip.
Misunderstood;
his many gift attempts rejected
Merlin, the Magic cat, now
spends his days high on nip,
curled up in empty boxes
planning world domination.
One sprayed curtain at a time....

Merlin
Here’s a tale
of a feline
wizard
who stole my heart.
Primarily black
with green eyes,
he is
a cuddly,
kitty
named Merlin;
whose meow,
like a magic spell,
instantaneously
makes
sadness disappear.

The Exception
I reject the rejection
I’m about to receive
I reflect the reflection
Without being seen
I confuse the confusion
Tie it up in a knot
I’d dilute the delusion
But Merlin I’m not
I infect the infection
With a greater disease
I detect the detection
With the greatest of ease
Disconnect my connection
Ride it out on my own
I’ll direct my direction
Then find my way home

One Man Banned
Hear the music,
be the dancer,
never seek the necromancer
swing away to Northern counties
where they have no written bounties
on your head
though you can't clear it
all that's left is sword and spirit.
Don't return until I call you,
something magic may befall you.
Evil seeks to hold your hand,
now you are the one man banned,
until Merlin waves his wand
and brings you home,
you must be gone....

Merlin the Magic Cat
He's known as Merlin the Magic Cat.
What can we say about that?
He visits old folks in need of a friend
and comforts all those who are on the mend.
His purring is magic; his meow is sweet.
He loves being petted and waits for a treat.
He brings about laughter while chasing his toy.
He's the resident cat and always a joy.

Camelot
Only history can know
Can the legend of Camelot be true?
Merlin himself helped make it a mystery
A wondrous place with skies of blue
Excalibur's strong splendor
Only makes other weapons pale
Lancelot, Guinevere and Arthur the King
On galloping steeds they rode, over hill and over dale
Only they know the secrets it held
To have been there would have been grand
If even on the wing of a bird
The legend will always stand...

Lets Celebrate
Riding the storms,
She was born.
With a fishing rod in her hand,
Better than most fishermen.
Her aim was to catch the biggest fish,
To make a delicious dish.
She will feed all the homeless on the street,
It will be a great feast.
First she will lure it with her bait,
And patiently wait.
Determined and competent,
She caught a Merlin.
Now she can celebrate,
With all her homeless mates....

August Calling
Heavy, golden days of August calling,
Wisper to my first age: a garth so sweet,
A blasted orchard with petals falling
to Earth corrupt, where dust and love may meet.
I stop there, in an endless summer's day,
Safe in Demeter's fruitless garden.
But I must remain in this siren's hell,
Shut up in Eden by Keats' lie.
This opiate past is Morgana's spell,
So etherised in a hollow I die,
Deceived and mad a Merlin base,
The idiot bastard of a shameless race....

A Dog's Mess
Archie and Merlin woke up early today
And wandered outside where crap they would lay
All through the lawn scattered amongst flowers
Are the remnants of meals eaten, devoured
The turds brown or green depending on diet
Some there so long even flies will not try it
Send the kids out to get them with shovel and bag
And pitch them in field that the farmer will drag
Got to keep the yard clear or you’ll feel the wrath
Of two mastiffs deciding to mess on the path...

Jealous of Mr and Mrs Meow the 16th
mr and mrs merlin meow the sixteenth were on the brink
of letting Kansas City High Society know what they think.
the star put their photo on the front page with a link.
each of them dressed to the nines, holding their favorite drink.
those two do not think that their prissy litter boxes stink!
sniffed their gardener, a put-upon python wearing bright pink.
look at her, she’s such a back-stabber, a gossip, a fink!
yelled his wife Priscilla, with a sassy sashay and a slippery slink....

Merlin the Magic Cat
One day while cleaning inside my flat,
I screamed upon seeing a horrid rat.
I needed a mouser. While thinking of that,
in front of me there appeared a large cat
as if out of nowhere! Imagine that.
He found the huge rat, then caught it and spat
its dead head and body onto my mat.
Gobsmacked was I when he asked, “Wanna chat?
I’m Merlin. Unlike the Cat in the Hat,
my magic is "meow -good". I’m never a brat!”

Forget Me Not
All the Myths are twisted.
Merlin warned King Arthur
of the Minotaur.
He had no need of twine-
his War Horse was Pegasus.
At the Labyrinth's end his Atomic Spear
pierced the Tauran Eye.
He had no thought of Camelot.
White wings lifted him
above the mushroom cloud–
through the purple gates-
to Satans' Den.
Merlin sat scowling at the Lady of the Lake -
Excalibur’s sheath had bloomed with
Forget - Me – Nots,
and Merlin's Crystal ball
was shrouded in a Nuclear Winter....
