Music of the Lyre
If you say the music comes from the lyres,
Why is there no music from the lyre in case?
If you say the music is on the tips of fingers,
Why can’t you enjoy music at your finger base?

To the Story Teller
Lutes and Lyres and hearts on fire,
and castles in the dawn,
  I can't resist a tale like this..............
             go on ,
                   my dear,
                         go on....

Message In a Bottle - Here - John
Our excursion brushed past bashing tides.
An uncharted desert shelter
is where the vessel resides.
Stripped of rhyme and reason;
I behold demons
strumming spiked lyres
yielding me
lonely
here....

Angels and Lyres
Halo of hallowed air
rising from six strings

walk over my bridge
minstrel minaret
magnified maple

ovate oak
viral wings
open in harpischords
playing archangelic

a myriad

of elphins
dancing...

Terminal Reef
Like water…
fear seeks its own level
Rich or poor
it wades through our consciousness
Driving us inward
toward sirens of darkness
Shrilling the moment
—with lyres of doubt

(Hereford Inlet: December, 2021)...

Angels and Lyres
Likely story,
"Lyres" lie,
Looking angelic,
Laughable really.
Lively defense,
Lovely lawyer.

Loads of evidence,
Loose lips,
Lots of blood,
Lost cause.
Let the "lyre" go?
Lovely angels say, "No"!

Elysium Tree
Elysium take me now!
My hand is outstretched for you
Send down the cloud
As slowly I close my eyes
Surrender my power to the soil.

I close my eyes and find myself
Under this tree
The sun dapples my skin and the grass
Is like gentle snow
Across the land is beautiful daffodils in prime
In my ears are the tunes of golden lyres....

Angels and Lyres
An angel walks the earth
Where mortal sinners
Gave a nation birth
An angel of elaborate plume
Once called Bird of Paradise
Still unsurpassed in tune
Its plectrum plucks the lyre
With an unmatched grace
And such a boundless repertoire
As to flush Apollo's face

It unfurls into song anything it's heard
Meet the maestro angel, Australia's Lyrebird

.........

i climb inside my breath meeting purple light
bow of spine humming a gently- kissed timber,
toes, fingers stray along lyres of inner flight
on rippled hushes wading softly, chants glimmer;
even rain’s tunes outside succumb to soul’s night,
tempo of diaphragm lilts, whispers flutter
god of peace chimes, ascending inwardly
beaming with glow, i meet heaven's symphony

A Glorious Easter Morn
Sunrays dance upon the waters
Glittering prisms of color and light
 His shimmering image shining through
Immersing us in Divine love
He has risen let us rejoice

Mountains bow low in worship
The earth trembles with delight
Mankind raise their hands to Heaven
He has risen let us rejoice

Trumpets blast, cymbals clash
Harps and lyres gently croon
Angels sing a heavenly song
He has risen let us rejoice...

Listen to the night--
screech between the stars;
moonbeams screaming,
taunt strings
on celestial lyres...

It's the owl,
playing for his meal
while dancing field mice
choose partners on a wheel...

Don't they know
that owl's are cunning;
faster in air
than field mice running?

Round and round they dance--
a shadow crosses the sky;
stars that where born
in a twirling glance
now gone with a careless eye.......

Carmina Burana At 4 Am
A kaleidescope of cacophonic carols
Attacks my cochlea
From hammer to anvil to stirrup
To the mesa we ride with timbrels and lyres.
\Gaily tripping lightly stepping
Through oceans of dandelions
Trailing the greening dew heel after heel.
The brae alive with pirouetting pansies and horns a-blare.
\Pixilation personified
The basso buffoon and bassoon collide
Would the afternoon fawn still respect the Buck-in-the-morning?...

From head to toe the Angel sways
as silence fills the air
the music soothes her body so
as other Angels gather round
brought in by her trance of sound
the lyre gracefully abounds
from turtle shell to the yoke
a stringing sound is rose
the mind erases the days mistakes
fills with balance like the soul
The Angel strums along the fine tuned strings
as the lyre sings to her with heartfelt gratitude

God's Place
Celestial hues of blues and indigo fantasies dancing beneath the moonlight soft in a field full of golden chanterelles luminous stars of silver quiver in the night sky ; Musical lyres shine proud filled with Holy chords inside the midnight hour thrums of silence partner, with Messianic clouds A mass of angels appear in the Palindrome of heaven, and suddenly everything is crystal clear, about what God is doing here.
