Angels and Lyres

An angel walks the earth
Where mortal sinners
Gave a nation birth
An angel of elaborate plume
Once called Bird of Paradise
Still unsurpassed in tune
Its plectrum plucks the lyre
With an unmatched grace
And such a boundless repertoire 
As to flush Apollo's face

It unfurls into song anything it's heard
Meet the maestro angel, Australia's Lyrebird
