Lemon Pie
Hubig's Pies are very pretty
And the lemon pie is sweet
So remember the old ditty
That you are just what you eat!

Her Cheeks Almost Cherry Red
the bright
yellow lemon tree
her
cheeks blushing
almost cherry red
expressing pure beauty
when

turns her
full body figure
towards
the

The lemon tree is very pretty with a sweet flower. However, it has an inedible fruit that is very sour. The juice needs a lot of sugar to make it sweet. The unadulterated pulp is something we cannot eat.

Lemons For Klara
drops of river or ice patches;
all of this without your notice
            but tough and half eternal

the lemon tree grows
            cool and silent;
            this makes you remain.

(for Klara Grünzweig 1957-2016)...

Born In a Desert
I don’t need an Oven here
My Coffee never Cools down.
I tried raisin’ a Lemon Tree
but it just Sank in the Sand.

Suppose if comes an Apocalypse
I would Survive nevertheless,
And if I go to Hell someday
I guess it Feels just like Home.

I like Rains and Oceans
but I was born in a Desert.
I dream of Swimming like a Fish
and dying in a dried up Pond....

Premium Member My Little Lemon Tree
I check my little lemon tree every day with delight,
The new baby lemons are just growing out of sight.
The lemon tree lives on my patio and loves the sun,
And picking those giant lemons is such fun!

The last one picked was like a grapefruit, huge in size,
And the wonderful taste it did not compromise.
The luscious lemon went on facebook for my friends eyes,
Then it had a date with a pie, and met its demise....

Peculiar Things
Peculiar things

It has been raining so much that the lemon tree
is taller than a building of flats where we live.
A neighbour who was hit by one of its fruits
 is still uncommunicative.

A flat battery in a jaguar is a sight to behold
when sitting in a bough of a tree.

The aroma of lemon juice wafts through the building
the restaurant in the basement sells fried fish
Quite fitting since it is Friday,
I like eating pork chops while driving a porch....

Would Thou Give a Gift so Fine,

Not the Grape nor even Wine

But that which makes them Join.

                        Not Rare the Coin,

                        Or Gold from Which Tis Made;

Nor Lemon Tree, or Seed, or Lemonade.

But that Which Binds Them Each to Each,

                        The Power of knowledge,

                        The Wisdom to Teach....
