laundry lines
wooden clothespins
white sheets
flapping...
ghosts of my
imagination...
like Halloween
this year
disappeared
The sunlight
shines through
the clouds
as rain falls
into the gray eyes
of a mother doing
laundry
while her children
play house.
Laundry, odor, stink
Parmesan cheese, fungus, dirt
Bleach, washing powders
(Let me Haiku you from a grandmother's point of view.)
white laundry
close ties
atop the dirty grass
grape skins of yellow rivers
raindrops
you wont stop peeking
downstairs at my new desk
Wash Those Froggies, Wash Those Froggies,
Dirty Froggies Get Eaten By Moggies.
Don't Be Mean, Get Them Clean
While You Read Your Magazine.
Laundry billowing in the wind
Drove my mother around the bend
She'd greet with scorn
Each Monday morn
But with ironing done, she grinned!

"I aired my clean laundry on the line, freshly washed and smelled of lavender'
< I really hate to do laundry
Why can't it be hands free ?
As the washing went round and rotated
She sat on the top and gyrated
When the spinner begun
She said “this is fun”
And finished her laundry elated
A scrubbing time's piece
From dark cloth and pillow hugs,
Well manners bleached on
Smudge, gone moments by light that
A blotchy face remembers.
You gave the perfect alibi
Swept your dirty laundry under the mat
Fooled everyone ~ everyone but me

Unfold, get worn,
dirty, washed, refolded,
unravel, mend,
ignore, rediscover,
reshape, repair,
rethink, get comfortable.

life's a lot like laundry
I
hate
laundry,
washing up,
ironing, dusting,
fixing stuff - and any
kind of household work.
The logical conclusion Is that
I must be descended from royalty
While speaking on the phone
She said
I’m having a Deja vu
Of talking to you and doing laundry
I replied
What kind of Deja vu
She said
Of talking to you and doing laundry
in the laundry room of sky
the angels wash
the cloths of heaven
hang them on the clouds to dry
and then begin
their cosmic ironing

Why is my salary any business of yours
or yours any business of mine
Remember when we aired out our laundry
on strictly private clotheslines
(For Naomi)
She is brave
enough
to hang out her words
on the line
long past
the last fluttering square inch
is dry
and the neighbor’s
have closed their blinds.

Tap, tap, bang sounds coming from basement door
Haven't been down there in over a score
Now afraid of that sound
Louder now with a bam
Open the door attacked by laundry galore
I've just returned from a perfect honeymoon
Why'd it have to end so soon
He carried me 'cross an ocean resort's threshold
~ Now I'm greeted by mountains of laundry to fold
socks tossed to the wind
as I stand in the doorway
soiled laundry will have to wait
i need to hold on
to my grandson, in throws of
theatrical night terrors
I am not being good to myself
I must admit
Today
Again I wet my bed
And I was up at 3 am
I have to do laundry again
That is insane
I am spending lots of money
When I do my laundry
Stevie is no aberration
Many spoiled forty-year-old men
Now live in mama’s basement
Playing video games all night
Sleeping all day while mama does their laundry
And makes their meals
Joyce was the original queen of please yourself.
No man could ever park her on a laundry shelf.
She did not need approval from any other.
She had been raised by a super confident mother.
