Presidents Holiday

Laundry billowing in the wind Drove my mother around the bend She'd greet with scorn Each Monday morn But with ironing done, she grinned!

Doing laundry is a heavy and boring work. Ironing too ! But looking at the neat pile of ironed clothes, no wonder she grinned !

I hear you, presidents are not short on holidays...it's those who pay their self-serving, worthless souls a salary who are badly in need of a holiday. Well said.

Those washday Mondays were not very easy but back in those days we did not have as much laundry. I really like your Limerick. You did a good job with this one. Your visit to my page was delightful. Sara

Not as much laundry? I am one of six children that lived to adulthood, my mother was one of ten. Before the pill, washing machines, and dryers, a good part of a woman's day was scrubbing and boiling nappies . . . ..

I would grin too if all my laundry and ironing was done, but I prefer dawdling in poetry and drinking tea, oh me oh my, Rico, life is good, take care, my friend, go out and enjoy the beach, bet its warm there, you make me went to pitch you a snow ball :)
