The Scary Sound

Tap, tap, bang sounds coming from basement door
Haven't been down there in over a score
Now afraid of that sound
Louder now with a bam
Open the door attacked by laundry galore

reading the ending definitely made me smile--which reminds me, I have a ton of laundry to do! It's been raining for days over here--aack. Enjoyed your limerick! & thanks for the nice comments on my poem :)

hmm i know the dryer tends to make tapping noises, but then you'd have to have been down there to load it in the first place and it sounds like you haven't. I imagine it could only have been a ghost that entered through an interdimensional portal from the second layer of hell and is now trying to spook you. or maybe I just have an overactive imagination:) laundry galore is an interesting phrase. can be interpreted however one wishes. take care Sara -Yoni

Very witty, Sara. I was prepared for a frightening ending and had a laugh imagining you opening your door to find "laundry galore." Great work! Love, Carolyn

This reminds me on my washing waiting to be done! For me it is my kitchen tap which keeps me sometimes sleepless. Very nice Limerick, Sara! And thank you for your comment on "Life is a Rose". Gert
