   ‘Pon the sequoia
         It’s thick
   Latched to earth

   hern naked purty

          Whilst
      My camera
         Flashed

Encroaching Mist

latched to hope
she patiently waits
for his love and warmth…
chilly night
approaches

Tale of Tails

If you find a tail with a dog attached,
Say, "Hi!" and pat his head.
But if to the tail a Rottweiler’s latched,
Better nothing's said!

(From my book, Tale of Tails with a Thirst for Verse.)

Teetering Hope

I have seen people just about starting,
There’re others at the end of the rope
crisis ridden and with anguish smarting
and latched onto a diminishing hope
With sorrow no longer able to cope.

Cheating

At her behest, he'd sworn off meat
"She knows best," he's latched to the teat
      With calories halved
      Poor guy nearly starved
No wonder with steak he did cheat

Burglars Robbers Squirrels Or Crows

Burglars and robbers! He declared in an absolute way.
Or squirrels and crows, she said. Ready to play.
You are weird he told her.
I know she said. Flash of fur.
A squirrel ran past carrying his wallet that day.
Gave it to a crow who latched on and soon flew away.

Consequence

i tore myself apart
first my skin was peeled with my thoughts
then my flesh ripped apart with my anger
and each word that you had spoke
latched at me like the pain i deserve
never thought it would come to this
nor did i want this to happen
but for each action
a consequence stands behind it

borderland

deep in the trenches a forest of cardboard trees and stained glass windows twiddling pieces through fingers sizing up like private eye a piece here…and there like a long drawn out story finally middle latched shut and made the sign of the cross now I aim for the quadrants

It Was Definitely a Miracle

GOD KEPT THEM
IT WAS A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT
THE CAR WAS BADLY DISFIGURED
ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES
THEY LEFT OUT WITH ONLY A SCRATCH
CONTACTED THEIR FIANCE
BOTH AT THE SCENE
GIVING PRAISES TO THE ALMIGHTY KING
GOTTEN OUT, DOORS MAY HAVE BEEN LATCHED
IT WAS A MIRACLE
GOD HAD ANGELS WATCHING
IT IS A BLESSING
THEY ARE ALIVE
SURVIVED.

Anonymously

You want to cover
the great distance,
between you and lost innocence.

The imploded silence
will speak of
great murders.

I was going down-
the stairs,
to dig out the skeletons-

from the latched, oak
chest. The empty drawers
had the imprints of fallen ancestors.

Soon the eyes will
swell, with salt of
a frozen sea.

Passion

He nibbles her earlobe
And kisses her neck
A feeling has overcame her body
The feeling started to get stronger
And stronger
She latched onto his back
Digging her nails deep
Then an explosion
Of joy, excitement, and happiness
Overcame her body
She hugs him tight
Then falls limp
She looks deeply into his soft brown eyes
And whispers, I love you

Vigilante Tongue

Vigilante Tongue Written: by Tom Wright February 2015 It oft returned, To a world of familiarization, Screaming and shouting; Relying on speech That can ne’er be recalled; Intent, vociferous words once latched in, Now spent, are as grave markers Set all in a course, That appears cast in stone; An inglorious lasting legacy;

Love Has Taken Flight

I held your secret for me alone behind a latched Gate
Where desire Muttered words of fire to burn endless nights
A flicker of love twined Shadows refined to light a Jewel of love where church bells ring in holy song to merge two souls as one and now today a flight of love set sail upon the wind has touched eternity
And found a reason to lie with you again

On the Edge

churning
mind
on idle
the moon
struck three

eyes latched
vagrant
onto stars
out the
open window

moonluster
nebulousness
of dulcet
remembrances
mesmerized

moonstruck
at three ten

Seascape Flowing Through No Time

Fast running waves,
each crest sweating moonlight.

Crushed pebble beach
shape-shifting
pinioning froth to night sky

A saline wind dunks,
strands of spume latched to flotsam,
all conjured out of a fleeting.

I recall now
that I was not there to record all this.
I was elsewhere writing it down.

I hear a mechanical corrosion
of ‘since’ and ‘when’ and ‘then.’

Fall Came Early

Fall came a trifle early
And it caught me unaware--
Seems the leaves began their falling
Turning circles in the air.

I could hear the end of summer
With the rustle of the trees--
As I latched up every window
To escape the chilly breeze.

But the cold it overtook me
As it slipped beneath the door--
And the moaning wind, it whispered:
"The summer is no more!"

Handsome Man

Handsome man with,
Smooth light skin,
Rough dark stubble,
And lean muscular body,
Had my eyes latched on him like a magnet.
Handsome man,
Your abs,
Had my heart racing faster than gravitational acceleration.
Handsome man,
Seeing you in ‘my ‘ element,
The gym,
The clothes,
And oh yes, the lifting gloves,
Had my words silenced with awe.
We both know, I am never short for words.

Two Keys

Two keys he had,
one to lock, the other to unlock.

He had carefully picked the mechanism
that latched the door,
to tomorrow,
a future he imagined only yesterday;
it could never again be disturbed
or entered,
never to be burgled by his eyes again.

Two keys he had
one he threw away that same day.

Even so he could still recall the crash
of residual trash.

'Then a hush fell over Jerusalem.'

Vipera Berus

Vipera Berus

As friend and foe,
sidewinding spinster,
you crept into my bed.

I should have known,
Vipera Berus,
that soon you would need fed.

Snake charmer,
with your song of disarmour
You latched unto my skin.

Merry Medusa,
molt your hide and
show your mortal sin.

Satan serpent
harbour incarnate.
I saw this in a dream.

Saltwater Snake
Wading impatient
afore luring me downstream.

Bones Ache Yet Heart Sings

Tangled within the dilemma of a monstrous disguise
I tried to free myself as it latched onto me with much more might
Swayed by its influence
Floating in the melody

An unwavering desire had struck my heart
A maimed soul had lost its path
The cry so beautiful it seemed my own
“Antonio come home” it said and I was drawn

I lost control and a limb
They say the devil charmed me in
Then why do my bones ache yet my heart sings?

M the Divine Miss-Ifl

At eight
I latched on like a babe
in need of nourishment
a positive role model
when my role
was never model
her message sent
I need not be gorgeous
to be fabulous
and found my beauty in that
M is not for mother
that divine love I
miss
yet never met
M is for Midler
who shaped my
Madness You bet!

Forever indebted
my eternal thank you
Bette

Here's Your Hat What's Your Hurry

Granitic testaments
sprout unstoppable
over the hill.

I know by heart
the graveyard.

Next to the wall
first maple on the left
past the bell tower,.
our stone stands,
room for one more.

Will my final twinkling
come quick, unexpectedly,
or slowly dressed in gray breaths
as mourning doves nest
in the eaves?

In any case, don’t feel obligated to
visit my engraved memory
under which I’m really not.
If you do, when you go
leave the gate firmly latched.

She

Clouds blown away by wind,
Rays of rising sun,
Kissed snow in mountain,
Birds on tree sung, hugged each other,
Butterflies fetched honey from buds,
Tender breasts are latched by little babies.

In that cold morning
She arose me in,
Didn’t reveal her roots,
But talked me a lot,
Didn’t understand her words.

When tried to clasp her,
Ran away from me.

When talked her,
She didn’t utter a single word.

Immersed slowly in her silence.

Morphed

What a long friendship with
moon !
I refuse to accept the blast.
Papa is dead, he said and
latched on to circularity.

I don’t seek the interbreeding
with terror.
It was me in reverse mode
of cryptomania.

Too stoic;stop. I think
I am wrong ; stop. And a serenade
for the lady luck. This life
was too much for me ; stop.

Androgynous.
The female body wants to eat
maleness, by almond eyes.
The old man was walking barefoot
with a paintbrush.
