Little Things Mean So Much
I want to be a pilot
That fly’s across the sky
Give my girlfriend everything
My Mr Kipling’s apple pie
We’re soar together into space
Flying all around
And when we get there
We’re touch the sun
Never to be found

Hands off Mr Kipling!

First Impressions
You read Kipling.
I sipped red and
watched
your pale blue scan.
Shadow played.
Midnight crept.
We talked of poets & poetry,
art & artists,
and twined aesthetics
like so many fingers
in each other's hands.
We spoke of primes, and
later
you whispered my name,
it was nearly a prayer
at the alter of an evening
that was perfect....

On Going Epitaph
of all the poets I have read
and loved the most are dead
impressions they have left with me
with gentle touch that meant so much
are part of olde antiquity
for they were dead e'er I was born
though not yet gone the pictures stay
and rondelays go on
kipling through my mind
what word's worth a
pound or tenny
son
what wall do
emers own ?...

Defeat, My Defeat - From Masters
I
Think - but don't make THINKING "your aim" -
"Don't look too good ... or lose common touch"
I learned from past masters, one name
Is Kipling. Khalil Gibran. Thanks. Much!

II
He called defeat his "bold companion,"
To be understood "is to be leveled," without
"Defeat, My Defeat," he owned loss & gain;
Life & death. Prepared to dig graves within...

I'm a poet cowboy, and I write the west
When it comes to a contest, I show them who's best
I call my horse Kipling, what do you know !
And my dog's a dachshund named, Longfellow
When bad authors write into Poetry Town
I draw out my pen, and I rhyme them down
I alway get the girl, in her store bought bonnet
And you can read us write away, into
Into the far distant Sonnet

The dense fog drapes all like a soft wool shawl
Morn's sun tries to peek through silver gray clouds
But those game roosters crow long_their pride show
God's creatures sing praise some soft_others loud
Rippled clouds (like sands upon a beach lands)
Float upon the eastern sky enshrouded
Caught up in this dense damp fog_ rain's evidence

Listen to poem:
I Wish
by Robert J (Bob) Moore © 2019

I wish I could write like Kipling
of battles fought and won
of how the British soldiers was treated
When his fighting days were done

How he gave his all for his country
fought bravely and with all his might
and when he was no longer needed
was left, with his devils to fight

Now we are in a different century
but some things have never changed
the soldier still has his devils
and the world he returned to feels strange....

Golden objects are most outstanding,
But without loving, they are missing flavor.
But let’s not forget stunning silver,
That the maid often loves to savor.
And brilliant copper, with its rosy sheen,
That every craftsman should well know.
But cold iron, as Kipling likes to say,
From all of these, takes the show.
Not mentioned yet, but not to be overlooked,
Is platinum, our bright and lustrous pal.
Thought to be impure for thousands of years,
But now more valuable than them all....
