No Quarter
You said I wasn't worth a plug nickel
But you offered a penny for my thoughts,
So I gave you my two cents
And turned on a dime...

Give me two cents rate

                                 During my efforts to quit,

One cent, two cents,
	Nickel and dime
Two bits, four bits,
	A dollar this time.

Ship me a grasshopper
	Do me a crime
Fly like a whippoorwill
	O'er Anaheim....

A Higher Pitch
I tried to jump over this high fence,
I did not use any common sense,
for when I jumped -- I got stuck,
reproduction's out of luck,
I wish I could have back my two... cents?...

Paper Clips
Most people are easily bent out of shape
Like Paperclips
Because they can't hold it together
Like Paperclips
My words are weapons so I lock & load
My Paper Clips
I bet your two cents is worth less
Than a Paperclip...

Happy Valentine’s Day
I will put my two cents in,
and join this Valentine’s Day craze.
To tell my wife I love her,
this particular lover’s day.

No need to pay attention,
to all those silly made-up things.
Because every day I feel,
the happiness that your love brings.

Children of the Fence
Fickle minded in nature, we are children of the fence
Would rather ignore your advice than listen to your two cents
We do not make the necessary decisions of life
Sit back and watch others deal with the strife
It’s disgusting really, there’s nothing to boast
But I have no response as I sit on my post...

Premium Member Criticism
The reason we never take criticism,
Is because it's always freely given;
And if you can't accept it, let pass,
The opportunity to criticize another;
For while your two cents worth
Might have great value to some,
The one for whom it's directed
Might appraise your opinion
At exactly two cents....

If I Wanted Your
If I wanted your
Input I would have
Asked
Why butt into
Others business
no one asked for
Your advice
No one needs your
Two cents
I hate when
Others decide to
Tell you their
Point of view
In order to try
And shove their
Personal views
Of how things
Should be done
Down you're throat
Until you gag on it...

Two Cents
There are many who may take offense
At advice you may choose to dispense.
You won’t get in a rut
If you keep your mouth shut
So resentment won’t therefore commence.

For it’s best, when the moment presents,
That you keep yourself up on that fence;
Though if you’d been consulted
None would be insulted
By offering up your two cents....

A Gift For Thee Hater
For your penny's worth of thought,
Please take two cents worth back.
For the destruction that you brought
With all that empathy you lack,
For your narrow vision tunnel
That's dug deeper than your tact,
We gift to thee a shovel
So your barbs you may retract.

Pledge Not the Allegiance
It's the third verse,
I got the urge to purge
All the curt words I've splurged,
I've submerged in sin,
I'll go to church repent,
Then go curse again,
Lets reverse this trend
We nurse tolerance,
When it might offend,
If I white wash my fence,
So try to not get tense,
When I do not defend,
Those who chose to be dense
And not use their two cents,
To show kids the reverence,
For the pledge of allegiance....

R.K.
R.K.
An uphill battle is all we were or could ever be
We collectively from the outside-in make perfect sense
But two cents and two more
Somehow cannot amount to four
In all your complexity
Bothered with my simplicity
Distant marks so prettily spark electricity
But only momentarily because inevitably
It becomes evidently clear
How terrible we would end
If we ever again set in motion
This train wreck....

Premium Member The Lie
In nineteen sixty I was thrilled when I noticed in the grocery store
A brand of milk my friend’s mom bought; it cost a mere two cents more.
My mother argued I could not tell the difference in any way, not at all.
For fifty years she lied to me, this woman I trusted. My mom! What gall!
She admitted to me, I truly did lie. You did choose the expensive one. Knowing she lied to save two cents does not feel like a lot of fun!...

I should of course sweep old dusty thoughts under the rug
But of course being human I must wager my own two cents
My hypothesis I guess of educated mayhem just perhaps
Has birthed a strong option only if to jockey into position
To raise the anxious knife where victory a trophy would shine
A penetrating blow this intellectual wisdom gushing flow
Where winning has come into sight if only to find an opened door

Premium Member Morality Lessons
Let the mask of pride fall away
and clear stubbornness out the way.

Every time one learns a lesson;
repeat of mistake does lessen.

Keep exercising common sense
like Mama said; heed her two cents.

Hawley gave rioters fist pump;
into the well of shame, he jumped.

The Organ Grinder
If it's just the organ grinder
with his little pet monkey
give him a penny
and send him on.

If it's just the organ grinder
coming around to tell me
what time it is,
tell him I bought a clock.

I had a tolerance for the old man
and his little dressed up monkey,
but day after day the same old tune,
I grow bored. He was quaint once
but now I'm seated comfortably.

If it's just the organ grinder,
give him a penny, or two cents,
send him on to the next house....

Tangled Vines
Tangled vines are relative
twisting way up into my family tree.
When we were young, still in college,
my cousins all knew I needed a buck or two,
small amount just to get over a slump.
I finally asked for ten because
it would have helped me move on.
My rich bro gave me his two cents worth
and I've really never wondered why.
But the others, only had excuses
growing from twisted, tangled minds.

I've included each one in my will now
a hundred dollars apiece from my millions....

MY 2 CENTS THEME FOR EASTER 2015

Love got spat upon
     Today;
Peace peed upon:
     Got in the way.
Only one tear fell
     Fell to the ground;
But the shooting was so loud
     no heard the tear's sound.
So on the bright morn of this Easter Day
     We kneel and pray
     Because He's risen
But no one has anything to say
     On this Resurrection Day
About the lives the children have given:
     Forgive me for any offence
For expressing my two cents on such a blessed day....
