Juggler
An old chap, who was nervous on dates,
once decided to juggle with plates;
he said, 'I conclude
it's best without food,
and a hoot when the waitress gyrates.'

for Geraldine's contest...

BALLS AHOY

There was a clumsy juggler from Kildare
Who chucked his balls without a care
One landed on someone's head
Now the poor guy is laid in bed
Cursing the juggler, a total nightmare

Lionel Messi
Horrendously explosive nimble ball juggler
Athletic and Ever-Attacking game shuffler
Maradona upgraded and improved version
Awesomely admiring soccer surgeon
Ruthless with the heart and strength of a Lion
Devours the opponent with the boot of an iron...

Number One Magician

one rabbit at a time
out of the hat

holy juggler
catching one ball

sleight of Adam’s hand
surprising us lookers on

jaw dropping us to
to demonstrate his power

quick in coming
so unexpectedly

no applause

A Stage
What, I cannot say,
A feeling something's wonkey.
Like mucking muddy sand at the bottom of the ocean,
Beneath acrobatic, trapeze artist monkeys.
What can be said,
About the snorkeling tigers?
Or the underwater chainsaw juggler,
Breathing fire?
There's a soggy clown around somewhere,
Spitting spades and hearts, and clovers.
It's a three-ringed circus sideshow -
It too, will soon be over....

The Women
THE WOMEN
(1982)

How precious now, the women
who must take to the roads
we have scaled, and failed
to help support the roof
save the dream

how detailed now her
vague life’s focused suddenly
now magnified because
her invisible chores
are now tiringly yours

in the silent house her wonders reveal
the lover, the juggler, the fountain of you
how poignant and real the vacancy looms

Premium Member Come By the Sword, Die By the Sword
Blind I came toward the sharp and swift
Looking to escape confusing pain..

Lies drip warm..the honey sweet..
Just before truth's cold steel stab

So make it quick
Cut me here..
Why tear away
Again piece by piece
Leaving loves decay

One fatal swoop
The juggler vein
I'll keep my heart
For another day

So cut me here
Face to face
We'll leave the past where it lay
Blood spilled on yesterday's blade

Fury of Juggler
A primordial fear takes over.
These pathways are not reaching anywhere.
I am leaving blank papers
for you.

This was dark matter,
you start dying from birth.
A fireball sails through you
reaching for the shadow of the soul.

The seawall collides with hurricane
shattering the window panes,
of temporal lobes.
And I am the salt,
I am the eye.

The sky is stepping down from heaven
which never was.
Man was the destroyer
man was god.
