Premium Member LOVE PROTECTS

I am grateful for the words of Jeanne Moreau
who one might consider a sage:

Age does not protect you from love…she wrote
But love
to some extent
protects you from old age

Ready To Play

Happy birthday, Sister Jeanne March,
A cat catches mice every day;
This pet with his back that shows arch
Is just getting ready to play.

Once French Demoiselle in Bikini
Lived Moulin Rouge life en catimini
Cute Eye of Hurricane
Saw through naughty Jane/Jeanne:
No use for bikini in Bikini.

Hidden

If I had not seen you yesterday With my eyes I would think you a hill Not a mountain For today The clouds go to the sky And you hidden Behind closed doors of white

Oh god was quick; so were we
to come so unexpectedly.
In final sleep we held your hand;
wept shocked tears in neverland.

Awakened, you to daylight,
how cruel his sun so bright,
to darken day before the moon,
before was quite not afternoon.

A Different World

I see the beaches and streets all empty
I smell the fear rising from our skin
I feel the courage beating in each heart
I taste the sadness of loss upon my tongue
I hear the birds fill the quiet of each day
I think the virus has forever changed our world

Untouched by form of his time
Dying so young of TB
His talent remains for us to see-
Cut short this tragic life,
Followed so quickly by his wife.

Modigliani 1884-1920

Note: Two days after his death his pregnant wife Jeanne, jumped from a 5th floor window.

Modigliani had a unique style
simple & characterised without guile
an oval face and elongated neck *
peculiar & sans a reality check

We’re proud of our own
They call her Jeanne Becker
Her name is pronounced Genie
And indeed she’s a ball of energy
Not sure if she sleeps in a bottle
But she is forever radiant
With the brightest smile to tantalize
Canada’s hottest fashion queen
The one we all love and admire
As seen on TV

Beware

Beware on Halloween a Witches brew
As into the night her frosty breath grew
            Whispering you to her door
And played you a trick galore
You gave her your candy and off she flew

In This Time

In this Time (of Covid-19) Days to weeks to months Ones, pairs, families Gather at windows Look out at new world Alone to keep safe Learn new, start fresh Re-connection Reach out, love more Compassion felt Stretch dollars Panic felt Hang on tight Welcome Neighbors Help

Stillness Decends

Twilight wraps its arms around the sultry sun
Colors of the day’s farewell dance into view
Silhouettes of harmonic souls caressing us as one
We swing together over life’s ripples of dew

Echoes of stillness descend blissful in the night
Holding me till the moon winks her smile of light

Crystal Snowflakes

CRYSTAL SNOWFLAKES

Crystal snowflakes fill the air,
Floating here and lighting there -
Delicate and sparkling white,
Painting such an awesome sight.

Crystal snowflakes in the air,
Saving truth with all you share:
Jesus takes away our sin,
Leaves us snowy white within.

Crystal snowflakes fill the air,
Floating here and lighting there -
Come into my heart, O Lord,
Fill my life forevermore.

A Camera Over Buckets

A Camera over Buckets

I hear the rolling thunder miles away Feel the earth shake and the windows rattle As waves crash to shore along the round bay Wind howls as I stand ready to battle Whatever crisis I have to straddle The hurricane a mighty roar of rain From the sky in a sheet of grey complain And I with buckets to catch my roof leaks To grab camera my preferred domain Capture this day as nature loudly speaks
