Looking back, was the rose in me,
Looser having his heart savagely grime...
Looming at the jar,
Was the poisoned love.
Bits and pieces
treasures in a jar
Shells and stones
feathers and petals
Memories and happy thoughts
of daily walks and time
I toss my pennies
in a humongous glass jar...

Bottom of Jar
of these things empty
Jars syrup, peanut butter
ketchup, mustard jars

Hey Mister Tom Cunningham,
You are definitely the man,
Your poetic talents reaching far,
Your taste buds tantalized by a
Marmite jar!
Amethyst spell jar,
Charged beneath Full Moon Leo.
Aura quartzes rise,
Crystals cleansed by selenite.
Peacock ore shines in lit night.
POETRY IN A JAR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
words trapped in glass
whispers of a fleeting thought--
time held in silence
lightning bugs in jar
delightful…shaken up, down
it’s another night
of memories— albums loose
family picnics; stains; death
Don’t set a fire within me
unless you are willing to stay;
Passion burns and spiderwebs;
and will eventually shatter
my glass jar of hearts.
A jar of olives in brine…?...
Add zinger or a punchline,
Let your juicy thoughts trickle,
Let your tangy wit tickle.
The title too must be fine.
Marmalade on top of toast
It’s such a pleasant and delightful treat
Jot in a piece
Of paper all your desires
Place the list on a
Glass jar until you fill it
With all of your conquered dreams
When you're here
I feel ease
When you're not
I always feel
An emptiness
In my heart
Like an empty jar
The wind comes and goes
Water flows in and out
Nothing stays.
glass wall,
hides no fear,
twisted lid,
holds me here,
lost inside,
a crystal cage,
collecting dust,
along with age,
broken wings,
so my fears,
in this jar,
i hide my tears.
i hear chirping beaks,
my love, as you deeply sleep
with your mouth ajar
butterflies in jar -
my abdomen aches with thoughts
of sudden silence
Must I take those beets in a jar?
What??? Have you no caviar?
Perfect for my fix
each morning and at mid-nite
I've been beaten today so now it's bed,
all the bad things run around in my head,
so while I swear up a storm
I see a familiar form...
"Hey, save the dirty talk for me," she said.
i have a jar of memories
only for me to see
its locked away and hiding
for no one but me
dig as deep as you want
but find it, you will not
just let it be
• I open the fridge and what do I see?
• A jar full of mildew waiting for me
• Out of the jar and into the sink
• For one, the jar has mildew and smells really stink
A small shadow
has settled upon
the glass jam jar
on the desk, amongst
a frozen swirl
of pencils
that are waiting patiently
for inspiration
to seize a hand
and be picked up.
Who stold my cookies out the cookie jar
Who ever you are you won't get far
They took my big chewy chocolate chips
I got my Ice cream all ready to mix
OOPS sorry I left them in the car
Walking many pretty beaches,
picking up pebbles like peaches.
The cool water licked my feet,
as the sand went through my toes.
Pebbles with a peach color,
jar with old pebbles.
A
jar now
mutely holds
washers and clamps,
nuts, bolts, screws, buttons, and the oddity.
It once held the dreams I dreamt and jangled
with hopes, desires
I’d saved, lost
in one
life.
