A Barbecue For Two
We were strolling through time's meadow just walking love's dog....
Then I found a log; threw it in my back pack when she roped his hog ?...

Coursework a breeze
Piling up PhDs

To keep the doors open
Commitments broken
Truth left unspoken

The life of the mind
Roped in, confined
Inevitability: defined

 Doors so unkind...

No Ropes
We are together and apart, like hyenas. You demand to be captured - roped to a pulse but I have forgotten how to knot blood. Love arrives quietly. My lips brush the wet vines of your hair.

Ropes
We are together and apart, like hyenas. You demand to be captured - roped to a pulse; we still know how to knot blood. After the questing tenderness arrives quietly. My lips brush the wet vines of your hair.

Knotty Tryst
Rolling in
Meadows in her hair
A tango mass of
Butterflies
And what knots

Roped in

Tongue tied

With a pollen smeared smile
Smack smitten by every cinch

FRIED CHICKEN HAT

roped into trying on
this greasy plastic hat
not cool
its charm
it has none
thirty something bucks
a breast it’s not
a leg not up
boneless
i suppose
a chicken
i am
for exposing my feathers
to this flop

Alberta…..they probably just shook their heads and muttered “ey?”

Texas…probably rode it down, roped it, branded it and sent it on its way.

Florida….they probably took it fishing... in the Everglades…’nuf said!

I stood too long
in the public square
strangers wearing masks
desecrated my presence
tossed paint upon my visage
roped and toppled me
shattered my past
erased my future
all because I paused
to gaze upon the beauty
of a common ground

There was once an old cowpoke named Meyers

For decades he'd rode an old hoss named Squires

He'd roped steers and fixed fences

         Enjoyed beer and square dances

And was bowlegged as a pair of pliers

Disappointment: Stacked Rhyme 10-30-2012
Let some hope dreams reach arms
first,
Yet come cope. Seems each charm
burst
Frets from dopes' schemes. Speech
harms worst.
Debts numb popes. Teams preach
warm thirst;
Wet rum. Roped beams breech
barms! Cursed
Vets hum mopes! Streams leech!
Farms nurse
Pet bums? Nope! Gleams screeched
swarmed hearse!...

Cobalt blue roped clouds lie 'pon the sky
Reach down and touch the distant trees
One lone butterfly flitted by
On the cool August's morn's breeze

August will soon be ending
September will parade upon the scene
Life will mellow in the cool beginning
That season's change will forthwright bring

Unfinished...

The Forest Gift
The tree was cut and roped by boys
Who brought it home to guard the toys
And treasures stacked up round its rootless base:
The pine has found an indoor resting place.

And underneath the tree are set
The gifts of Christmastide for yet
Another year and tree have come to mark
His birth, with fragrant needles, cones and bark....

The Eye of the Tornado
In the eye of a tornado,
Spinning rapidly.

Watching it passed,
While roped to a tree.
While spinning colors, psychedelically.

Air, wind and mass,
Destruction of houses are sad.

Lots of angels were helping her.
Making sure she was not getting hurt.
While that tornado was spinning through.
There was not one scratch on her or a bruise....

Untouchable
I was untouchable
My emotions roped in place
Never feeling more than I wished.
…
I was untouchable
But this disease,
This curse,
 Crept into my body
Silently seeping into my skin
Wiggling into my veins
Overtaking my organs
…
I was untouchable
Until he told me that he loved me
…
I was untouchable
Until I realized that I loved him
…
Now all I want is for his touch...

Didn'T You
exaggerated feelings
exaggerated thoughts
love songs inside my head
a mind that thinks too much
I thought I had a hold
on your desperado heart
silly me for thinking
your heart could be roped
why am I surprised
that you had to let go
I can't say that you
didn't always tell me so
I am not surprised
that you'd let me slip away
didn't you, didn't you always
tell me it would be this way...

September Ashes
Oh September you came
Covered with ashes

You came whispering into our tears
We who roped to the grief
then danced over our hearts

You came to us
wearing the sandal of curiosity
while the howling of death
blowing at our evening

Oh September...
We arranged, over the marble,
The farewell ritual:
Of palm fronds,
Of perfume dawn
to wash the grief's face to shake
the September ashes....

Life Without Him
A woman cannot control her heart,
Who she loves can tear her apart,
without a clue of what he does,
when he's a rebel without a cause.

I've roped myself a hurricane,
His heart the only thing I've tamed,
And off to prison once again,
My crying heart goes off with him.

The pain I feel as he goes away,
Will bide with me throughout my days,
My nights in lonely solitude,
As I pray to the Lord I'll make it through....

Desire
my fields on fire, my mind is lit
no amount of rain could ever douse this
I can't sleep I'm just to wired
this sweet, sweet taste of pure desire

I'm drinking this wine but it doesn't quench
my soul roped in and tightly cinched
the more you give, much more I want
my heart upon your sleeve you flaunt

I feel your skin as we ride this storm
all past dreams have been transformed
lightning strikes and leaves its mark
tattooed deeply on my heart...

Depressed and Messed
I can’t control myself, I’m remote
within radio range and scope
but far so small and mote
receiving signals through smoke
directed through ash to choke
seems circular nothing to note
unbearably tied like a rope
no baring clear to approach
unaware I’m walking to croak
in smoke near clifftops and slopes
mind numb uncared and broke
a snowball no brake to poke
an inclined decline no joke
with my lifeline tied I’m roped
and until it ends I’m fooked...
