"the life of the mind" - I love this verse. I want to borrow it but it would feel like stealing now.

Caren, I borrowed 'the life of the mind' from the 'public's treasure trove.' That is, it's common parlance. Take it and run with it -- no intellectual property rights attached. :)

Having appreciated the value of an educated workforce, China has just allocated billions to improving education in China, whilst the USA persists in its belief that cannon fodder do not need an education, i.e., in the USA, the doors will remained closed to those unable to finance continued eduation . . . . .

You won! The Democrats just dropped paid college tuition from Biden's Plan, proving the last thing the USA needs is an educated workforce! Aloha!

Yep, we shoot ourselves in the foot, don't we? Then again, the best education I ever got was at the 'School of Hard Knocks' -- you know, old 'Atsamata U.'

Hello Gershon, yes the doors are so unkind. The doors should be opened. Enjoy your day my friend.

Keep the doors open, don't take the easy way out, use your mind and talent, don't let either be roped in and confined. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

I think this one is a bit too clever for me. Open, but locked?... Oh, well. Learn something new every day. Thanks, John.

Oh, you get the prize for the understatement of the year, Kim: i.e., 'the mind will play tricks!' Looks what it's done to Joe Biden, for example. I'd laugh, but it's no longer funny. :) gw

No greater waste than a mind (and/or a talent) never utilized. A true tragedy. Thank you for your spot-on comment, Debra! ~ Gershon

Things one does to reach goals...the photographic memory seems a great advantage until politics and other agenda creep in. So much in between the lines of this brilliant write!

You, my friend, have an active mind to find 'so much in between the lines.' I looked myself, and all I found was blank white space. Hmm. Nice for new spectacles. lol. Thanks, Karen. :) gw
