Bull's Eye

I once fell headfirst
for a stunning, curvy blonde
till "Go fly a kite!"
were the only words I heard...
I learned dart throwing instead.

Premium Member Lightning In the Night

Sky-to-land flashes,
                             Bright boughs clawing through blackness,
                                         Nude tree dives headfirst.

The Indian Giver Love Bandit

He promised to love me forever
Then again he was just being clever
He took back his love
So I gave him a shove
Headfirst in cow dung-my endeavor!

Untitled #67 / a Test

Untitled, their works of art (?), their minds
pried to the paper, full-out concentrate
only a few sigh and rub their eyes
and lean back, hands overhead, yawns,
relaxed, reclined, restrained, now!
Headfirst diving into the test once more!

Premium Member Aquamarine

By the sea I become immersed
in that flash of aquamarine.
Bubblegum and blisters go burst,
by the sea I become immersed.
Diving into the waves headfirst,
nature's worth a view in widescreen.
By the sea I become immersed
in that flash of aquamarine.

To My Friend

To my friend
I love when you bring me down
Dropping me onto the floor
Headfirst
While my hands are forever bruised
With the shape of your fingers
Midnight, down in my room
Paint fumes, runts, waste
Sticks, non-toxic taste
Notes on squares small
And I love it all

Premium Member Cheer Your Lungs Out

The crack of the bat
  The arc of the ball
It lands over the fence
  Gives the fans a thrill

Close play at the plate
  A headfirst slide
Clouds of dust raised
  He's safe; game's tied!

Cheer your lungs out
  Give an occasional boo
Beer and brat at the ballpark
Great day for me and for you

Haze

I dove into a cauldron
Headfirst into a brew
I needed a phoenix talon
To wash my heart anew.

The witch & I are friends
He gave me his talisman
We wrote out names in blood
On a tree our names engraved.

Running through hemlock groves
Swimming through moonlit waves
Our friendship is a cobalt haze
Fortune smiles upon the brave.

The Bike Ride

Cruising my bike up the beach
Gave that hot chick a bicycle ride
Hoping one day she'll be my bride
We went over the handlebars with a screech
Crashed headfirst into the hardpacked sands
Which ruined my hopes of wedding plans
Cruising my bike up the beach

The Pond Called Love: a Sort of Short Satire

Some people do not fall in love
They jump, headfirst, heedlessly
With little thought of where they'll land

Others dip in a toe and then
Either slide in cautiously or
Retreat with great haste, in contempt

Still others trip, most gracelessly
With much unseemly splashing
And left quite without their pride

Often, its some combination
Of the three above here listed

Born of Mama Smiley

Conceived of coitus, carnal but pure,
You’ll be born of love, of this I’m sure,
Born to mama Smiley,
Whose heart opens wholly,
Go headfirst, face life’s labors and mature.

Be born to reason, cool and fluid
Love the Earth as a Celtic druid,
By the hearth rest your heart,
By the stars may you chart,
And as you greet the wind, stay rooted.

Birth blessing for Ms. Smiley - 2019

Fool

I’ve got quite the appetite for mayhem

Thus from these desires my problems stem

Prozacidasical perhaps

Headfirst into Lady Luck’s slaps

Crumbling foot stools under my whim

Why if there be heart ache, I’ll have a bite

Just another serving of bittersweet spite

Bring on my many foolhearty excuses

Distilled crones, my destructive muses

Pluck from my sour patch mood, a pickled fight

Premium Member Liquid Romance Splash Tribute

Headfirst into the sea he found her,
Madison caught Allen with her kiss;
Love left to surge bound them forever;

Free to be with her in this abyss,
Allen could breathe no trouble at all;
This realization was pure bliss;

His movements a nonverbal catcall,
the mermaid grins taking no offense;
She welcomes this monumental fall;

Fathoms down in a liquid romance,
elated with what never made sense.

Premium Member First Day On the Job In the City That Works

Awake before dawn, he jumps into his clothes
slides, headfirst, down the curling bannister
inhales a bowl of cereal -- Thanks, Mom! --
and bolts out the door into the old

used jalopy, where a nodding gunman
bides his time in the backseat
relishing the lamb's imminent slaughter
secure in the thought that even if caught

-- laughable, that -- he will post bail
and be back out on the friendly streets

A New Paradise

Drag me headfirst facing the red lights,

Throw stones that turn to gold dust,

Cruise through a pile of crumbling structures.

The buildings of the past.

Critics drawing out rapier blades,

Their swords casted in flames,

On wheels we swerve the pathway,

Just three junctions away.

A pocket full of sad villains,

A swig of wine to another high,

Standing tall on this grey horizon,

Searching for a new paradise.

Premium Member Eye Love, You

I plunge, headfirst,

to swim your eyes,

     and search their depths

for the soul of your mysteries ...

should I lose myself among the eddies there,

or the shadowy abundance of your passions

pull me to the warm dark of your abyss,

there is no other earthly place ...

     I'd rather drown.

A New Years Birth

Life awakens in a serous sea
Momentary stirs inside me
Reminding me I’m not alone
also how large that I have grown.
Be patient my fidgety one
It won’t be long, your day will come
Your scheduled time is drawing near
To usher in a brand new year.
Christmas past was…ooh! God It hurts
It must be January 1st!
Parturition has now begun;
Well, do your thing daughter or son
It matters not since you’re my first
Though I pray not breech but headfirst.

Premium Member Wings of Dawn

The golden goose of love had laid an egg
Let it roll away, for to beg
Passersby shunned the sight all day, all night

The poor goose knew its time had now arrived
No longer could her feathers up and fly
She cast one last longing look on high
Then plunged headfirst into the drink...

Total strangers hushed and gathered 'round
Transfixed by what they saw there in the pond
The golden goose unfurled her wings of dawn
One last fling for a gander's favorite blond
