Harriet Tubman - Maverick
Harriet Tubman helped free slaves
Determination gave her the strength
To break the law
And have slaves crawl
Through tunnels to make their escape -
She risked her life every day

Premium Member Swing Low
I lassoed with my lariat
a laureate named Harriet;
I rope-a-doped a pope
and washed his mouth with soap.
The wheel broke on my chariot;
it was too big to carry it.
The poet and the pope got hitched;
I’ll be home soon, I hope....

Gossiping
Whispers unheard
Among gossips
The truth becoming
Unknown
Gertrude tells Harriet
Then Mayble tells Juliet
That the Milkman
Is sleeping with
Evelyn
Unbeknown to all
Fredrick the Milkman
Was gay
He was happy to
Sleep with
Evelyn
While her husband
Was away...

Premium Member A True Believer
Dappled twilight shadows
Canopy of oak and mulberry leaves
Glints and glimpses of sunlight
Ominous conversation of slave catchers
Scared whispers of ones who seek freedom
Praying God will answer their prayers
Led by Harriet Tubman a true believer
Who relentlessly leads people
To the promised land...

To Each His Own Bed
When Ozzie & Harriet wed
Censors decreed one to a bed*
Desi & Lucy
Never got juicy
But McCarthy still dubbed them, "Red!"

* It was not OK in the USA for
married couples to share the
same bed, but always OK for
people and puppets to beat
the crap out of each other,
leaving Soup poets to wonder
why people are so cruel! ...

There's a Way Out of Hell
There's a way out of hell
There's a way out of hell
She told me there's a way out of hell

I love a cold day in of hell
As the cold rain fell, my evil master's smiled
But deep inside my head i told myself
"In the end Love will prevail"

Cuz there's a way out of hell
There's a way out of hell
She told me there's a way out of hell

Written in Memory of Harriet Truman...

Premium Member Please Do Not Notice Me
Please do not notice me Harriet said, capeesh?
We thought she was humble, but we were wrong.
I caught her in the city with a duck on a leash.
Garnering all kinds of attention from a city throng.

No one takes a duck on a walk in New York City.
Unless they want to be noticed, said my cousin Wright.
Or they want to be seen as pretty or witty….
I said as Harriet and the duck danced out of sight....

That's Fur Out
An ostrich can outrun a racehorse,
And their eyes are bigger than their brains
The only birds that have but two toes
Some may even have saddles and reins!

On the old Batman TV series
They added Aunt Harriet, for they
Feared, two bachelors and a butler
Might have overtones of being gay!

Cricket chirps in fifteen seconds
Plus Thirty Seven's the temperature!
The Venus flytrap eats mostly ants,
And tigers have striped skin, not just fur!...

Horn Hairy Gorrila Limerick
Horn Hairy Gorilla Limerick

We were drinking some sarsaparilla
Ran into Hun that they named Attila
Pretended he was a gorgeous man
From each country him they did ban
He had turned into a harry gorilla.

Trump even played a part on the
Ozzie and Harriet as a worthless
trash collector who never learned
how to use a compactor and also
was a poor actor who became
our President. We are supposed
to be the benefactor. Can you
imagine that.

Jim Horn...

Frank Cady
You starred as MR. Drucker on Green Acres and Petticoat Junction.
When it came to abilities, acting was definitely your function.
You lived to be 96, that was a very long life span.
There's no doubt that you were a talented man.

You also starred as Doc Williams on Ozzie and Harriet.
Now your life is over and it's what your fans all regret.
People are sad because you are deceased.
Now we say goodbye as you rest in peace.

(Dedicated to Frank Cady who died June 8, 2012.)...
