Whilst the doctors discussed her fate
Her belly inflated with hate
Flat out on a gurney
For one final journey
From hospital food that she ate...

Arnold Crane was obsessed with his journey
He had been a rich Wall Street attorney --

Came to grips with himself on a gurney...

Now that
we’ve processed
the whales
on their gurney
and salvaged
some profit
from rainforest trees,
maybe it’s
time we stab
forks in our ice cream,
turn cones
of attrition on you & me....

Cletus O'Toole tested the slopes at Vail

He met some trees as he sped t'ward the vale

      'Twas a short-lived journey

         Sprawling on a gurney

His hapless schuss left him woozy and pale...

Stumbling Through Life
I stumble and stagger through life's stony streets, Trying to find my way as I steadily beat my feet. It's simple to give in while lazing upon life's gurney. Refusing to give up, I slowly continue on my journey.

To Hell In a Gurny
To Hell In A Gurny

We had been going on a long journey;
After a while we saw another attorney;
Same old song;
Done no wrong;
Was being wheeled to hell in a gurney.

Jim Horn

It must be hard to tell a lie with your
teeth closed. Wonder if he ever bites
his tongue....

Your Voice, It Hurts Me
Your voice, it hurts me
Every time I hear it I feel like I need to be rushed away on a gurney
Why won’t you be quiet? -All you do is scream-
I try to muffle you with my own shouting
I’ve even tried hitting my head against a beam
But you’ll never be quiet, not until I die...

Sleepwalking
I’ve woken in the strangest places
If, by strange, one means faceless
Scantily dressed, if at all
A parking lot outside a mall
A park, a street
In unsocked feet
An autopilot’s nighttime journey
Assless gown upon a gurney
Uncertain of what brought me to
Embarrassed, shocked, without a clue...

Premium Member His Last Ride
There was once an old geezer named Bernie,

Who was nearing the end of life's journey.

With a raspy voice he cried,

            "Life's been one helluva ride!"

As he was whisked away on a gurney!

Iron
They put a power-gate across our road.
We live secure here, locked inside. We punch
the keypad numbers, the bar swings free.

And yet, one neighbor’s in a gurney-bed,
his lungs like punctured tires. He lies
among plucked feather comforters. Are we

safe or free? A phoebe flashes overhead.
What do birds care for metal barriers?
Take in sky with every breath you breathe....

Premium Member Comatose
Sounds of medical monitoring machines
Echo in the brain of a comatose marine

Lying on a gurney hospital's bed
Least of all, nothing is said

Those present bow their heads
Praying his not already dead

Eye's flutter, the patient awakes,
from their comatose state

Ironically,
the marine didn't pass through heaven's gate
Risking life and limb then joining life again...

Premium Member What Does It All Mean
What Does It All Mean Written: by Tom Wright 3/24/03 If life were a game and not a journey, would diversion toward both be same? If at ending awaited still, death's gurney, and cretinous rules, that made the game. Would scrutiny reveal an abeyant tear, because flow of game so quickly ended. Or should concern be placed in the fear, of second best, in hell, being suspended.

Kady
I have a new friend,
Her name is Kady Burney.
She is nervous about her writings,
I think she needs a gurney.
If you get a chance have a look see,
I am sure you will like it,
I am sure you will agree.
Please make her welcome,
Help her feel at home,
She is such a good poet,
We don’t want her to roam.
Thank you very much,
Y’all are the greatest
Please keep in touch,
You’ll be glad she surfaced....

Premium Member Hoping For a Fix
the cockroaches had been disturbed
They were running out from under her nightgown
on to the gurney the firemen were holding.
Where were they coming from?
The corpulent woman pretended not to notice
knowing they had been living in her fat rolls
She was glad their dark haven had been violated
Maybe when she got to the hospital someone would fix her
She had been living in the dark with these creatures for a long time...
