The Guard

With his body
towards the evening sun
warm as blood
one single ant
is rushing towards his home
to guard a spruce
in the wood

Virtue's Guard

Virtue’s Guard

Sleep tight sweet virgin.
And on the morrow take flight.
Thou art virtue’s guard.

Changing of the Guard

Amber is the dawn
In the quiet comes to call
                                                         Stars have gone to sleep

Garden Guard

Marigolds, the tint of molten sun,
Battled with the aphid horde, and won,
Routing them with pungent, putrid stink,
Beautiful to see…not smell…I think.

Always Remain On Guard

The wedding anniversary
Of both Precilla and Edward
Brings them near to the Almighty,
As they always remain on guard.

Coast Guard Suspicious Officer

Coast Guard Suspicious Officer

Plot about officer seemed to be intense;
For years he had been held in suspense;
Ammo and arms,
Always alarms;
Now there is a prevalence of evidence.

There's a lady who's caused quite a kerfuff
Her lil "nawdy" rhymes made some blush and chuff
Might call the police!
Will that bring them peace?
They'll prolly just use her fur-lined handcuffs

I Guard My Heart

A lost but profound soul.
A winding road tries to take me away.
Under the bridge of my feelings
Is where I stay.
Guarding my heart
from the likes of you.
Protected and safe,
not hurt again by you.

Let Guard Down

please let your
guard down
let it melt
away like ice
on a summers
day
till there
is nothing but
love left standing
in the place
of resentment
like before
bitterness
overtook
the heart

Changing of the Guard

Into the early morning.
Into the unlicked gray.
Just before the ceasing night.
Before the stirring day.
There between the future-past,
Among that ‘shifting-tide’.
Into the early morning,
When night and day collide.

Guard Your Mind, Steel Your Heart

Their insults are all designed to make you feel frail.
Rude quips display how they all feel about themselves.
Give a sincere compliment, they tell you off to hell.
I see many adults acting as if they are still twelve.

The Guard

Watching and waiting
No gratitude received
Taken for granted
Like the cool night sky,
Gentle ocean waves,
Like the falling leaves of autumn,
Always expected to remain
But, with no one to tend to their needs
Or Admires their eloquent beauty

Color Guard Mom

I'm a color guard mom,
I am honored and proud,
Cheering and very loud.

Dancing in a routine,
Stretching every body part,
Toning up muscles are smart.

Glitter girls are so sweet,
Moving flags to the beat,
Catching the flags are a treat.

The Roman Guard and His Brother

(At the Tomb)

I never told my brother,
That the women did anchor,
That the scene was blacker,
Than a black sheep bleater,
Because I was the archer,
Of the delinquency, the snatcher,
So I was not an asker,
To my mother or brother.
