Where I Live
Bluff purple mountains
Smothered
By cloudy gray shrouds
Grimly overlook
The busy anthill
That is humanity
In the valley below....

Desolation
behind dulcet verse
a dazzling chant of plucked strings
moonlight gleamed unseen

a grimly immortal sigh
on someone's desolation

Where the Vine Has Grown
Grimly grown
into the
youthful
yearnings
towards
being alone.
Within this
wistful world
woefully willing
to wear itself down.
In order to be
branded as
something of
your own....

Reaped Angels
Hear echoes of souls grimly reaped. Reaped from hands of the beloved. Beloved souls soar to divine. Divine souls now graceful angels. m.n.i.w Four Lines Only 6/7/2015 Visual 3

The Vultures
How anger steams the desert sand;
Dead bodies sprawled about the land,
Beaks tear while cacti grimly stand.

Among the dead he is alive;
Devouring one-two-three-four-five,
Another fall - ten more arrive

Glaciers

Gargantuan ice walls
Glassily reflecting
Glistening, churning seas
Grasping the edge of frost
Gripping softened sea beds
Growling in disbelief
Grimly accepting fate.

Sad, Lonely Choice
stethoscope ends
emerged from ears,
lady vet’s task
then grimly done—
take your time here,
offered her aide
while tears seeped up
as faithful dog,
grown feebly-old,
lay still, inert,
after last breath:
	sad, lonely choice,
		my only one....

Vicious
Hooded eyes
that terrorize
amid a face
once recognized

Mouth's a slit
that grimly fits
the evil words
that spew from it

Heart's so dark
yet mind does hark
to times there was
a kinder spark

Once delicious
now malicious
when did love
turn so vicious?...

Grimly he comes.
Day after day,
hour upon hour
second by second -
for centuries
into eternity.
The face
beneath his dark hood
he will reveal
when he comes
for you.

Drinking
these details that i often spill
are streaming from my spirit's still
a brew thats strong with graving wieght
thru this i now communicate
to get you drunk with all my pain
to leave you grimly feeling sane
so when this potent beverage hits

You wonder what he does all day
watch tv or morbid play
perhaps he cruises the mall
the young to take one and all
or maybe to the library go
peruse obits of so and so
his favorite place the cemetery
his great success brings serenity
if you have no still figured yet
tis Sir Grimly, the king of death...

At the Wal-Mart
I was at the local Wal-mart

Where someone sneezed, along with a fart.

At first I was stunned.

Then, I started to run,

and stumbled over my cart.

I knew the germs were in the air,

and that I was getting my fair share.

So, I accepted my fate,

to sit grimly and wait,

armed with chicken soup and a prayer....

Moribund
The sad wakes leaving
Yes………… only petals of
A yellow tulip—pickled in a rose bed grieving
The loss of morning
The mortician's flower Strewn room sees
Roses bloom
And petal
Gaily
The river rides them
And the water dyes them
Black and Sadly its eyes
Are grimly weeping
Into the bank
Waking The bees to buzzing...

It never seems to end
as you lose another friend
when death comes grimly reaping
and he leaves the mourners weeping

How terrible the day
when someone fades away
and they join with those at last
who populate your past

So once again you start
with a broken mind and heart
as one more soul along the way
stays behind with yesterday...

Premium Member Into the Woods
Into the woods the three did wander
Graceful teenage girls carefree
I had great cause to ponder
Surely someone held the key
When they were never seen again
Suspecting things grimly gone awry
What evils lurks what evil men
Might dare beneath God’s watchful eye

Premium Member - Cheer Up -
When smiles and tears cross
                                under clouds that faded fast
                                      grimly cold shadows
but bright hopes would always bloom
as the taste of sweet honey

Dangling Dandelion Muse
Dandelion puff clouds
tickle the air with their flossy flights.
Other weeds cannot fly
they are deeply rooted, their seeds
flop low.
Landscapers grind the ground grimly,
mowers grapple and growl
but the low gravity and the fluffy,
the wind-walking dandelions
sneeze up their fuzziness
and care not
as they ride the sky, their
high-flown wispy pedigrees
waving goodbye....

On thanksgiving day we’re eager to see on dinner table smoked juicy turkey. We find dismayed the bird gone, and couldn’t get another one. No way out, we’ve to turn vegan grimly. Grateful for God’s blessings as the windfall, no turkey but wine everybody’s call. Apple pie, tomato fry make unique dinner night fly. Thank His benevolence giving it all.

I know love with you...

The sea in violent wave
will not submerge our hearts,

The fires of fast fury
cannot finish the poetry of our tender touch,

The gales that gust grimly
will not wear away the warmth of our eyes,

The stubborn earth in it's shifts
shall not quake and crumble the structure of our love's monument...

Dedicated to my Love Muse...the future knows our pulse...

Halloween In the Heartland
Skeletal feet clickity clack,
a zombie child chewing bubble gum
giggles.

I have set a cackling witch at my door
but none are sacred tonight,
yet the cold hand of the dark
shivers all.

Candy is proffered,
horror masks nod, drool and moan,
bone handed gloves
grab recently caught Swedish Fish.

I shove the witches switch at them,
it's the only way
to save some treats
for the hungry ghost
that lives in my grimly grinning mouth....

Winter of Love
I am brittle and abandoned.
Like gilt leaves shed by the selfish tree.
Discarded.
As you wilfully discarded me.

I am damp and distraught.
Like wind whipping drizzle against cheeks.
Cold
As you were callous and cold to me

I am sombre and grey.
Like the sky’s heavy battleship clouds.
Threatening
As you so grimly threatened me.

I am winter white.
Like first frost, static and beautiful.
Deadly.
As you were to me....

Death
Come to me sweetheart
pale and wane befit your name,
yes I named you
and not just that ordinary noun.
Come not sweeping grimly
but dressed for a wedding.
I call you my 'nightingale'
my little bird of sorrow and joy.
I watch you fly in the dark and light
bewitched by time and place
life beginning on the tips of each wing.
Come to me sweetheart,
let your dress fall over my eyes,
I shall be in you then
as your lover forever,
together we shall light the lamps....

The Mollified Man
The meekly
mollified man
subtly sews
his silently
simplistic sights
upon reality’s
rickety rufescent light .
Always left
lifelessly looming
beneath the brain’s
bashfully blurred
background
of benevolence.
Frankly flickering out
the faded flaws
whose firm
factual flames
of effectiveness
have by now
grimly grown
themselves
out of Life’s
limp lashes
of limelight .
Solemnly swearing
their silent
silken seas
of sorrow
into the
sulking sands
of insignificance ....
