Latenight No7
Lay me low
on a night like this,
when the moon gapes
and eyes me
whitely
whidely
widely
I want to end
drowning in the shimmer
of January skies....

Riot
the mirrors and glasses can't help but falling
the tough and the mindless can't help but brawling
when earth's soul gapes through the looking glass
only pure spirits can protect it....

Crystalline beetles
down the picket creep
over peeling paint
toward drought seared soil.

Thirsty gapes the maw
of August seasoned Earth
where weary little bugs
are welcomed home.

Haven
The abyss yawns and gapes,
Inside the blurry shapes
Of demons writhe and roll
And dance, upon your soul.
Beyond the inky space
Of Hell, there looms a space
Of silver stars, and blue
For you to stagger to....

Nothing In Its Hands
nothing in its hand
nothing in its heart
nothing in its head
northwards it gapes

what if the arctic melts
and corona car is offered
to transport your things

My brother, where will hide
with your elastic hands?...

Scouring
Like a bee,
you wanted to land?
on the snapdragon’s,
curved lip.

Light years away?
a mouth gapes open;
you will not,
walk in.

A wrenching search,
for a home, where
you will not find
the violence.

A wax palace, you
are invited to live in.
The dummies, abound,
without backbones.

            beard lashed with its salt
         On land, rubber legs awkward

But rig him up a mast

The Eagle
The Eagle

The eagle, sits and wait
like a thief, he gapes
Not knowing, when he is going to strike
His prey, roams
With stretched out wings, he glides
Without warning, he bolts

His crockett toes, he curls
Snatching his prey
With power, he flies
Taking them, on high
As he sinks his beak and rips apart
He is still a beautiful bird
With, very keen eyes...

Boy Scout
I cry at Chain Bridge
in my third year as a tenderfoot.
It's the same thing,
when father takes his time
showing up and the earth
gapes all the way to chaos.
It's when the money runs out
and the business fails.
The scouts all laugh
as they stand near their
neat packs with all their
plans piled beside them.
I am 13 in the dangerous
age of sissies.
I wonder what
the crying does....

Dandelion
tidy floral rows
     stark ragged dandelion
shears’ hungry maw gapes
   shing!
have a care; it will regrow
                     unlike your delicate bloom

surprised, you look down
     your prize tulip’s roots mingled
          with this intruder
               woven inextricably
                    gleaming shears look quite hungry

The Happy Accident of Life
Tell me the clouds aren't hung on fishwire That it's chance should trees reach such like a spire That even with elements scrambled so dire This Earth can recover and shan't ever tire At least not in our ages of apes From a crown of thorns To a wound that gapes We keep finding depths Far deeper down In our minds and Our actions Refractions We'll drown

from molten faces spring
but lost on beatings thought
My gapes and gaits
are for your critical
I care to touch a base
and soul is disgraced
where dogs snooped
and the Doctor was not grey
where billie lost
causes all would here
Lost in a second you weren't
there there

Must Be An Earthquake
In the distance, a hazy skyline I see
So close, yet so far to reach, for me

On horizon, tall glassy structures and shapes
As I try to focus, my open mouth gapes

‘Tis not a city that’s coming to view
Its bottles of booze in white, brown and blue

And I’m on the floor just starting to wake
I fell off my stool, must be an earthquake

Or maybe that last one was packing a punch
I’m changing my diet, no more liquid lunch...

Spring Panorama
Azure streams silted with cotton bows
Green, svelte carpet spreads below
Silken florets on tawny branches glow
Yellow daffodils cloak the meadow row
Purple violets' royal fabric vaunted hills hallow
On servile plain, feathery dandelions spread umbrella
Along hedge rows, creamy honeysuckles with sweet dew flow
In dense, brown brush; fledgling chicks from saffron gapes bellow
On the forest floor; jittery, gray squirrels deplete nutty escrow...

strokes me,

warm breath,

Poss-Poss
Thought I heard my possum,
my sweet dear little pet.
Hurried to the kitchen;
No food for poss-poss, yet.

Recalling mothers' babies,
big eyes and hungry gapes.
Happily discovering-
some over- turning grapes.

Rushed out to the feeding-tree,
Grapes-the possums' earn.
Left them on a branch,
for possums will return.

Went back inside; heard such a thump,
the window-sat the cat.
Peeping through the glass,
my poss-poss now a rat !...

The Gapes of Rathbone
Basil in your Soup?
Or Basil in a cheap 1960's Soviet Sci-Fi,
Gaping at the screen,
As missiles destroy space stations,
Oh, MY!

Oh, for 15 seconds of gaping,
He becomes the star,
Of that Space Station...
To bad movie buffs,
An elation

Plan Nine From Outer Space,
Saucers on a string,
Navy Vs the Night Monster...
Now that's the real thing!!

Movies made from pocket change
Forever imprinted on our minds,
When it comes to bad films,
There are all kinds!...

Moviemanier
My mother is a kind of person on the planet
Who cannot watch movies on tv or the internet
Because she thinks they're real.

I tell her of the video shoots
And say it's just a movie.
She leans back and at me she hoots
'My boy don't be a rookie'.

And so I linger with the rest
Of borrowed video tapes.
Mama home like a house arrest
My mocking brother gapes.

I still can't watch Spartacus,
Vampire Diaries nor Nikita.
Daily we watch In Focus
From Voice of America....

Deep Night
It's the glove pitching with the dark;
It moves through the wings of a crying skylark.

It storms through all your soul's language—
It gapes from that bleak wreckage.

It's the vault around these faint fences;
It's a well more than barred senses.

It's made of velvet, this uncommon black;
It bleeds upon your passion on the rack.

It's shifting the other side of light;
Its place a mask for scars' pining blight.

Its flowers all sinking down—
It falls for me, because I'm found....
