The Big Football Game
The Big Football Game

By Elton Camp

For the game Ralph had the dough

So tickets he hunted to and fro

The party liquor splashed

Ralph ended up smashed

Thus, to the game, he forgot to go...

What Fills the Air
What fills the air?
The song of birds?
The song of nature?
At a football game is it the sound of cheers?
the people taling aloud?
The marching band?
I feel that this in my ears is all wrong...
What i hear is the song of my heart wanting you...

Crowded stadium
tailgate parties on
smoking barbecue
beer and booze flowing
chatter, loud music.

Warmth of friendship
high with the drinks
bare chest in snow
one big proud fan.

crowd cheering
Band playing
players wrestling.

Weekend Thrill
Weekend thrill.
Friday night no home football game. Video games are a bore. Wrestling the same
old stuff. So what good is the weekend.
Sunday is here what a thrill needed to clean. The rotten grill.
Monday can't get here fast enough.
Then only four days to be completed. Then it's back to the weekend!...

Premium Member Take Me To a Football Game
Take me to a football game,
For a hot dog and beer kind of date.
When our team scores, I will loudly exclaim,
For a play that was so exciting and great!

When they win the band will loudly play,
And we will scream like lunatics in the stands.
With a victory dance to end the day,
We will proudly leave hand in hand....

Since You'Ve Been Gone
Since you’ve been gone,
Nothings the same
No loud TV
Or football game
I have a smile
And not a frown
My toilet seat
Is always down
No dirty boxers
On the floor
Or towels hanging
From the door
No smelly boots
And shoes that stink
No globs of toothpaste
In my sink
I now realize
What I had
And honestly
This isn’t bad....

Michigan
I’m from Michigan.
I don’t know what I want.
So I just go to school in state to save money.
The money lives in a Michigan bank.
I cheer our school mascot.
At a football game and it rains and snows.
I’m from Michigan.
I’m as worried as the Great Lakes.
Someday, we’ll dry out together.
But for now.
We stay in a forgotten state.
I’m from Michigan....

Lame Footballer and Fifa
Can the undeniably lame
Play a hard football game
And it will still look the same?

Already, I’m suffering his shame
But see upon the brave lame
A thrust gigantic fame
And lips screaming his name
And discussing the amazing flame!

I myself shall God blame
For excellent legs he could claim
To with them FIFA balls tame
Leo Messi proving ‘A Real Dame.’...

One For Thanksgiving
Over the hills and through the city streets
but nobody was home

Thanksgiving day was the loneliness
time of the year

went to grandmother house
but everyone ate
no one was home

No lovey family members
called and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving
no one called

I eat my Thanksgiving dinner
alone

I watched the football game
alone

I prayed to God why hast thou
forsaken me...

Not So Much
you say you've got some tickets
for the football game
do you want to go with me?
I say not so much

you say let's go to dinner
to that new sushi place
I say dinner is fine
sushi, not so much

you say let's go to the movies
"Saw VI" has been released
do you want to see it honey?
I think not so much

you say "I need to hold you more"
"am I kissing you just right"
"I don't tell you enough"
I say "it's never to much"...

Premium Member The Call
The Call Written: by Miracle Man 11/27/2021 She hadn’t called in the past two years, an hour & half later I sat near tears. The football game I desired to see, the entire first half had escaped me. Uneventful things I had to hear, occasionally, my throat I’d clear. She had so much catching up to do, A ringing doorbell, became my queue. She started my day off with a bang, she didn’t know ‘twas just I who rang.

Pizza Again
Pizza again
The turkey was placed on the table.
Pies in the oven baking.
The football game on tv.
Grandma yells"dinner on"
Went all of a sudden the turkey is gone. Can't be found nowhere.
The back door was open, but no one was there.
When grandpa yells pizza again!
There was no Thanksgiving dinner this night.
For the dogs on the corner had a joy.
While we sat and gave blessing for the pizza boy
It's pizza thanksgiving not turkey this year....

It can be fun
Teaching was full of fun,
Before these emails had begun,
Class was toiling away,
Doorknock, answer right away,
Despite my scholars' pleading,
Switched them all to silent reading,
Vital, sign your name, X or Y,
Choose one, class did sigh,
Who won that football game?
Who came second, who's to blame?
Sign your name, you see,
X means you teach literacy,
Star, you can teach the IRA,
You passed this test today,
Chalkies look back on this,
Laughs are fun for teaching Miss!...

Results of Hearing News

suffered such a strain
did like driving us insane
had been a big pain

did have a delay
they never knew time of day
with minds like to play

would lie and procraste
on them pulled something fast
now am an outcaste...

I Can'T Smile
(This is a fictional poem)

I can't smile because I have nothing to smile about.
After fourteen years of marriage, my wife walked out.
She blames me for the death of our son.
Now that I've lost them both, life is no longer exciting or fun.

When I was taking our son to his football game, I had a bad wreck.
I survived but I was horrified when I learned that it broke my son's neck.
My wife spit in my face as she walked out the door.
I can't stand the pain, I don't want to live anymore....
