fir tree
pine cone cluster
squirrels gather

ripe apples
decay on ground
wasp paradise

change of color
rabbits fur

Premium Member Companionship

two birds nestled close
on the branch of a fir tree,
in the thick forest:
within shady depths, sacred
friendship thrives through all seasons

warm sun
peeking through clouds
happy faces
-----
green fields
wheat swaying
motion sickness
----
fir tree
pine cone cluster
squirrels gather

Premium Member Oh, Christmas Tree

Nearly straight is straight enough, t'would seem!
They, every year 'til this one, disagreed.
Now a thin wire tendrils down,
Grabs the fir tree by the crown.
Dad won this time; he's hung it from a beam!

Premium Member loving my trees

mother naked oak
oversees pine forest
squirrel grabs plump acorn

twisting shimmering leaves
cottonwood feels magical
silver faerie titters

pine cone plop
fir tree scratches sky
snow lands gently
Form: Haiku

Premium Member The Injury

A tipsy fir tree, swaying in the tempestuous Spring winds; blew its top; snapping the tips quarter; mini-fur, right off of it. Wood glue will not be strong enough to repair this tree!

Premium Member I Fledge Allegiance To My Birds

Disclosure: This is in no way to belittle "The Pledge of Allegiance". I love America!!! This was just something fun that came to mind, as I have four pet birds that I adore.

I fledge allegiance to my birds,
And the united birds of America,
And to the Republic for which birds stand
On one leg, under God, barely visible
On a fir tree with justice for all.

Premium Member Missing Billy

I’d once a lovely white cat called Billy
On Christmas nights she did things all silly
Chewed red ribbons, climbed fir tree
Plucked the star on dancing spree
In festive times I miss her really.

Premium Member Meditation Place

The whiteness of the day surrounded the quiet man
Mountains gave him additional silence
He had never found a better place to meditate
Doubted he would ever find this kind of peace again

His guides gave him direction, and his soul understood
He felt more in sync with himself than he ever had
Thank you he told the mountains and the sky
The fir tree nodded as he turned to leave

Premium Member How Grand the Lighted Tree

December brings out the artist in me
When we decorate our Christmas tree

Spacing the lights out just so
Hanging bulbs that glisten and glow

It’s a masterpiece every year
Creating memories precious and dear

I love to sit and sip a cup of tea
Admiring the brilliant artistry

Scent of fir tree always reminds
This the season for joyous times

For goodwill and peace on earth
Celebrating our Saviors birth

Premium Member White Christmas

The street lights stood as sentinels
 As snowflakes gently fell
 Christmas presents were all unwrapped
 As snow glistened from rooftops

The fir tree wore a coat of white
 And Christmas lights shone bright
Santa and his sleigh rode by
As children waved bye - bye

 Carolers sang with hearts aglow
some of my favorite yuletide songs
As the chorus grew I sang along
Let it snow - let it snow - let it snow
