If doctrine and dogma
held a conference with reality
and an agreement was reached
on a common philosophy and set of tenants
Would that be a paradox or paradigm shift?
I often wonder why Election Day
is not on the fourth Thursday
of November...
I, for one, would like a chance to select
~ a whole bunch of 'turkeys-elect'
Politians promise you the earth just for voting for me
Its election day but my vote will stay unused its apathy
You owe your country and your family love use your x

I've given up my right to keep
Active in Political Speak
So I don't vote election day
I just follow along the way
Now, I lay me down as Sheep
Election day will be here soon, ready for insanity?
Who will be the next President of the USA this year?
All candidates are tough, do you like Romney?
Will Obama win, or leave office in disarray and fear?

Tomorrow is Election Day
Hurray!
No more attack ads
An end to hyperbolae
and unproven accusations...
We'll throw out a few bums
Elect some new ones
Two years later ~
They'll all beat the same drums
A tranquilizer gun for my birthday please.
The color doesn’t matter.
A sharp point please.
I will teach the neighbors
To get out of my way.
They vote all wrong
On election day
I’m usually not violent
But here’s the thing
I know what’s right.
I am the king.
Democratic front-runners take the stage
All fired up with Progressive rage
Medicare for All, a higher minimum wage
~ The audience wonders about their age
Ages as of Election Day 2020:
Bernie Sanders - 79
Joe Biden - 77
Elizabeth Warren - 71
Today is voting day, I must make it a goal
I'd rather take up residence at the north pole
All the cat fighting
And name calling
To be honest ,I don't want neither one in control

election day blues
annoying voting machine
candidates unknown
unfamiliar names
did not do due diligence
angry at myself
voted for some names
did not know their competence
feel bad about this
resolve to learn more
candidate information
be better informed

There was a time a president
Was someone we'd revere,
But now we live in what I'd call
A different atmosphere.
We have to choose between a woman
People just don't trust
And someone else whose attitude
Fills folks with pure disgust.
The lesser evil surely seems
Quite obvious to me.
I guess that this Election Day
We'll see if most agree.
Buzz kills ounce stormed across
open beaches.
Citizen police engaged, shamed,
raged against the sight
of mask-less merry-makers.
Now the lock-downs are over
we gather to celebrate
but here again comes the hate.
Just wait
they will steal your freedoms once more.
The 'Karen's' are gathering,
we will all be germ-jailed again
come election day.
I’m tired of reading articles
About Election Day.
There’s nothing new that anybody
In the world can say.
Opinions, mostly set in stone,
Are not about to budge
And hopefully, November 5th,
Our ballots get to judge.
I can’t wait ‘til it’s over,
Though I’m trying hard to hope
That whichever way the wind blows,
Those who lose will somehow cope.
It was one giant leap when we landed on the moon.
It will be one giant leap for black people soon.
Over the years black people have come a long way.
They'll come even farther when Obama becomes President on inauguration day.
It was wonderful when Barack Obama won on election day.
It will be one giant leap for black people when he becomes President of the USA.
Eligibility established
Longing for public service
Electioneering
Closing arguments
Turning out the vote
Initiating change
Opening the polls
Never acting tired and worn-out
Drive to the polling place
Awaiting in line to vote
Yes! Civic duty discharged

Most ghouls and goblins will not be seen
After October thirty-one, on Halloween.
But the worst of them I fear will stay
Until November two, Election Day.
If I am to believe all that I hear
Of the candidates, I sadly fear
The choice is either rogue or sinner.
It matters not whom is the winner.
Ten thirty-one should not worry you
The date to fear is eleven two.

A sad truth is upon its way..! This un-election day.?? Should
This carry through; will birthdays be next too?
Its hard to contemplate? I have to say.! Can an elected
Government of Britain, allow such? For under juristriction they
Were voted in, as law stands.' How can they then deprive
Other men?
Are they in truth then 'not lovers? upholders of law
Based elections; in Brexit Britain.?
Election day is on Tuesday this week
and to the poles I wanted to go.
But I needed the time off,
and my boss told me “no.”
So I went to the poles today
they were open near me,
I cast my vote at the booth
and now I will just wait and see.
America will wait and see.
Now the way I see it,
and maybe others agree,
if things go horribly wrong
I will have the right to sing a sad song.
Election, Schmalection!
It's not we who choose.
It's Congress that picks the one they will use.
It isn't the people,
Who vote the man in.
It's the Powers That Be who decides who will win.
It's the Politicos,
That are running the show.
You agree with their wishes or you just have to go.
The Mob is passe.
It's called Politics now;
But they're one and the same, just a bit more high brow.
I'm waiting for election day
When all the hoopla goes away,
All the lies and all the drama.
You're not fooling this old gramma.
You are but puppets mouthing dirt,
Spewing garbage, foe to hurt.
I want to hear what you will do,
Not old re-hash. Give me some new
Info if you want my vote.
More lies will to me denote
The choice is an unholy sin
For least revolting guy to win.
won one of the no. 4 spots
I do not like you,
I could write a thousand words,
But then I'd be inviting you,
To stir in my thoughts
I'd rather root for the underdog,
That cares about others,
That doesn't discriminate,
Seeks peace, not war, that frowns on hate
When election day arrives,
As an American citizen I'll abide,
To voting on rules and policies and politicians,
I want the future to break ground,
I don't want another one of histories renditions.
Form:
When I look around me today
I wonder what do people see
If they wish they were truly free
If they listen to what leaders say
Taxes are they content to pay
And not just their own,
Bitter seeds they have sown
How will they vote on Election Day
Will they pay for the wealthy too
This they must really want to do
They all seem to be so very blind
They don’t even count the cost
As for liars freedoms are lost
And dreams are left behind
I vote to 'peach' Donald Trump
not to impeach and convict
What was the point? -- Now that he's
'Citizen Trump,' let's make the new title stick
I vote to make Mr. Trump
an election-day worker in Atlanta, GA
That'll be a 'peach of a way' for D.T.
to find out how his accusations play --
In the daylight of the real world
where our votes are counted
I'll betcha four years from now
~ no new charges will be mounted
Tennesseans probably won't like what I have to say.
The majority of them were racist on election day.
The majority of Tennesseans admitted that they voted the way they did because of race.
If I had voted against Obama because of his skin color, it would be hard for me to face.
It's sad that most of my fellow Tennesseans voted against him because he's black.
Tennesseans need to change because racial harmony is something that they lack.
