Simple exit plan
Do it with elan
Life a one way street
Our nonchalance greets
Detachment complete

Unaffected
By external
We feel within
Pulse internal

Hues of joy
Manifest
Bliss ahoy

Clear light
Within

A Gentle Breeze
A gentle breeze can't help but please
When do-si-do-ing through the trees.
It moves the air (to who knows where)
With grace, panache, elan and flair.

When I can sit a little bit
And bask within the realm of it
I feel delight and that just might
Inspire me to start to write....

Elan Vital
I want to go where the land
Is boundless, where the wheat
corn and flower cane grow,

where the soft white downy
of cotton amplifies in big fields,
and bed my body and soul on
the waves of cotton balls,

and in natural surrender my
élan vital to feel the virginal of cosmos
descending for once in age.....

A mercury-free tin of tuna fish
bolted down, gagging all the way
To the accompaniment of gossipy lips
a revolting noon hour this hot day

A walk inside COVID's masked prison
did not appeal to me either
Tossed the tin in the can with a certain elan
Farewell, tuna fish; unleashed, my inner Tarzan...

T’was a bone fide anomaly
an avant-garde cacophony
carte blanche imbued with déjà vu
soft ennui of élan
following an endless toque
the dilettante went flat

Limpid Elan
Every morning I wake up
I feel my day adore –
Anew rays of first light
Afresh my mind, cleansed soul –
A new beginning to endure.

Yester memoir enclosed agone
Today to face more –
A whole day unrevealed
Fostered withal by elation.

Walked my way
With anew hope
Destiny wished crystallized.

Aspired aspect
Limpid élan…

Tranced....

Life is a vessel
Inside my mind
Creeping along
Knowingly
Elan is over when the sails topple
The wind ceases
Youth, and lulls old age

Such is the ascent and descent
Pressing on now in quick montages
Life in its infancy to ending
In a blink of prized tuna and weathered sails
This vessel sailed by much too fast

Over Time
Understandably,
we were worn out with love,
romantic movies gave you hives,
love poetry often made me gag.

We had this thing going on,

love and hate had mingled,
ennui and elan had given birth
to a redeemed vision
of that far too simple word.

When we kiss now,
that lip-to-lip caress
has exponentially evolved,
into a whole lexicon
of newfound endearments....

Anything for you, just mention it to me
Walk across the world? Swim across the sea?
I would do it all with pleasure and elan
If at the end you'd be there, determined I'd press on
When legs and arms began to tire
A thought of you would light the fire
And onward I would stay my quest
The prize is nothing short of best
Real fur collar, diamond ring
I don't like faux anything...

The Politician For Contest
The baroque politician walked with carte blanche
he definitely was a bona fide anomaly.

The crowd didn't like his avant-garde elan
as the low mummer turned to cacophony.

Politician calmly showed ennui
as though it was deja vu.

Crowd was not a bunch of dilettantes
becoming avant-garde took his shoes.

Then began ripping his baroque clothes
what happened next, nobody knows....

O Stars
When I goggle at the screen
Of wild black yonder,
O Stars! I feel a blazing avidity
In my vital limbs

Elan eyes of the angels,
Invested in with thousand finesses,
Show your cloudless sparkle to
the ignorant world

The magnetic star adjacent the Moon
to guide the sailor way out,
My heart responds to
thy flickering with life,
You ignites my bituminous soul,
With an immortal spark...

Trying To Mellow Mellow
Killed all my own crew
so i i could take yours
on myself
Elongate my language
My elan is obvious
oblivious to my goal
dont you realise this is my mind
going for a stroll
Take your threats so empty
and toss them in the air
Careless words aplenty
from a man who doesn't care
well wishers drowned within the well
sorry just a wisp
away from worry
but no need to fret
i am just a loser
and thats the surest bet...

My Artist Friend - Another Ten Words
Among artists, she is something of an anomaly—
Traditional and avant-garde, austere and baroque,
Yet a bona fide artist nonetheless.
Amid the cacophony of modernism,
Where iconoclasm gives Carte-blanche
To jettison all rules and form and coherence—
A kind of fauvist deja-vu in distorted echoes—
She, neither dilettante nor polemicist,
Has genuine elan, and force, and passion--
In contrast to pandemic, jaded ennui....

Premium Member Winter Blues
Winter’s subtle hues of grays and blues
decorate and embellish the earth.
The coolness of the colors imbues
youthful elan, and promises rebirth.

Celeste mountains with electric tops
reflect the fullness of the blue moon
The coldness of the cobalt night pops
urging arctic stars to sing their tune.

Ocean teal with cerulean caps
swirls and twirls the turquoise waves and soon
meet the shore with Aquarius laps
and excites my lonely heart to swoon....

Vista Mom
Besides being a wife to soldier
She nurtured life skills in her daughter
How to overcome odds and upsets
Only to reach the collosal heights
Trained her doting doll cute
Thus being her first pedagogue astute
Not an easy task of
Being an army man's better half
But she did with elan and finesse
Symbolic of Her Highness
Making her kid very successful
She did her job simply powerful
I yearn to be her son in next
Birth so that I have her love best..!!...

Literary Circle
I feel a sense of déjà vu as I listen
to the cacophony of voices:
dilettantes discussing poetry
under baroque chandeliers. Masquerading
as avant-garde writers or bona fide critics
(black turtlenecks; color is an anomaly and suspicious),
they claim carte blanche to spew
pompous platitudes,
pronounce entire oeuvres as lacking elan
while all they create is endless ennui.

Success Story
An elegant baroque auditorium,
filled with bonafide audience,
awaiting for an eminent avant-grade maestro,
to hear his modern musical cacophony;
A fusion of ancient and modern magical tunes;
that makes the people feel pure elan and bliss
and he never makes his fans embrace ennui.
He was once an epitome of anamoly and failure's friend,
but a hardworking dilettente and was given carte blanche,
he exerted himself to prove him and now his success is a deja vu...

Anomaly don't enter contests like this
the style is a bit avant-garde,
I'm a bit of an oldie, preferring baroque
and finding this bona fide hard.
The cacophony of words dancing round in my head,
carte blanche to use this ten word list,
this is my third attempt, seems a bit deja-vu
but my dilettante side can't resist.
Not sure if I can do this write with elan
but hey-ho, ennui go.
